Meh, sort of true. Nobody I knew thought of them as equals though. Maybe because the Celtics flat out dominated the '60's. The Lakers were never dominant like that.

LoL,

Magic is a big time LA businessman who owns chunks of all sorts of stuff. No idea of his net worth but I bet it's a ****load and in the same league as Jordan, who seems more about chilling out and letting piles of licensing money roll in.

True about Magic. At one time he owned like 2500 Burger Kings. He owned part of the Transamerica building in LA. He owns part of a mall and theater complex and part of the Dodgers if that ever went through.

But, and not that these "net worth" websites are ever accurate - first search puts Magic at $500M and Jordan at $1.31B. I guess Jordan got super rich by buying the Charlotte Hornets and the value going up a lot.

Dude, Air Jordans alone...

I think Magic owned a number of theaters in LA as well. He is very very wealthy, far wealthier than he amount Jordan (or even John Daly) has donked off gambling.

Peanuts compared to an apparel line that does over a billion in sales yearly, and he's got his fingers in a lot of pies, as well.

I would expect that Jordan is richer than Johnson, but they're both so rich that the difference between them is pretty small in the bigger scope of things. What, really, is the difference between having 1B and 2B?

Yes, witty ones, it's 1B.

About two wives.

Me: so, Craigslist random, what kind of repairs were made after the accident?
Craigslist random: this car has never been in an accident.
Me: I'll be leaving now.

Perhaps that was done intentionally.

Why are you trying to buy a 1998 Honda CR-V, and why would you care it was in an accident?
03-05-2017 , 09:47 AM
Probably doesn't think that reversing into bollard / wall = accident. And I might agree.

There was more damage than what you see in that photo. Headlights were not aligned with body, front bumper was partially disconnected, interior frame damage visible in the engine compartment, etc.

Gus - It's a 2000! Looking for a small car that I'll use for about 4 months driving around USA#1 and would like to lose less than the cost of a rental (~$2500) for that period when I resell it. Older cars are about as depreciated as they will get. Have mostly been looking at mid 2000s subcompacts in the $4-6k range, but this one caught my eye because I briefly owned a CR-V a few years back for a cross country drive and liked it.

My Larry Bird connection: Years ago, I almost married a girl whose previous boyfriend was Bird's cousin. Never met the guy, but I saw a lot of pictures. There was definitely a resemblance, but the guy looked even dorkier than Larry. His name was Wiley Bird.

"A 42-year-old woman in Mount Shasta, in Siskiyou County, is accused of having unlawful sex with three teenage boys,"

Was there really any need to describe the sex as "unlawful"?

Well then it makes more sense if it was more than just that crumple in the back. Looks like he got in an accident by rear ending someone and the back is just him running into a wall or something. I guess it is possible he went off roading or something to cause the damage to the front like that and not actually got in an accident.

But yeah, an old Honda or Toyota seems like the way to go for your case. Hell you might be able to even get one for like $3k and worst case is you quick sell it for $2k.

Funny thing is I looked at the rear of the car and guessed it was a '98 with no research. See that the double hinged model was made from '97 to 2001 before going to a single hinged door in the back. Pretty funny how easily you can tell how old a car is just by quickly looking at it.

People are teenaged until they turn 20.

It makes the distinction that the sex wasn't lawful, hence why the official police charges use the term unlawful.

I haven't seen too many news articles about 43-year old women having sex with 19-year olds.

Recent great purchase: Google wifi

We've historically had really crappy internet coverage in our house, and it was never clear whether it was the fault of our service provider (AT&T U-verse) or the janky network I had set up. Prior to getting google wifi, we had service coming in through the basement, then used powerline adapters to connect to 2 other wireless routers in the house in order to get coverage to every room. It worked most of the time, but we experienced a frustrating amount of dropped connections, like 1-2 minutes at a time multiple times a day.

Anyway, I bought a 3-pack of Google wifi "pucks" that effectively create a true mesh network throughout the house. Setup was super easy - just plugged in the primary puck to the U-verse router, download the google wifi app to connect to that puck (which was easy, just used my phone to scan the code on the puck), and then plug in the remaining 2 pucks. Took less than an hour to get all 3 pucks up and running and to make sure all of our devices were able to connect without a problem.

Now, I can monitor the network on my phone's app (in terms of making sure the primary puck is getting service and to make sure the 3 puck are all communicating with each other). The app also makes it easy to prioritize traffic to a certain device and shut off access to certain devices. For example, I created a "Kids" label that includes the devices that my kids use, and it's just a single button push to immediately shut off network access.

I've only had it set up for 3 days, but I believe it's been super stable and great coverage throughout the house. Based on my experience, I highly recommend. Having said all this, I'm confident that karma is going to bite me on the ass and bring the network crashing down.

That's because it doesn't happen that often, but there was one a couple of years ago. The kids were all 18 but students.

Hey man, the story is reporting the official police charges brought against the teacher. Maybe contact their police department and inform them of redundancies? There's plenty of situations where two legally consenting adults can be arrested for having sex, but that wouldn't be lawful sex if you're gonna nit it up.
