I am wondering if there is actually a correlation or if it is a coincidence.

I didn't notice any significant increase in allergies at all. That would be a weird thing for eye surgery to cause, they alter the shape of your cornea, I don't see how that could impact your immune response to allergens.

Re: LASIK - tell me your stories
hey you break an arm and your body heals itself
you get sick or have a disease and somehow the body fights it off
you get cuts and the body heals itself
basically anything that happens to your body, the body can heal itself
EXCEPT YOUR EYES....!!!!!! for some strange reason.. the body can heal anything.. except your eyes
lol at thinking you can naturally train your eyes to get to 20/20.. it is impossible. the body can heal anything.. except your for your eyes.. reasons?? unknown
lol at those people!! lol!!!
go to your optometrist and tell them you want to heal your eyes naturally by getting lower and lower prescriptions.. see how defensive they get

That makes sense, I had heard antidotes about the allergies before and I have had increasing issues with them over the last few years but that could have nothing to do with Lasik. My only thought was being more susceptible to allergens because there is less of a barrier over your cornea but I'm not sure if that is even accurate.

I can't even read a street sign at a stop light right now. I can't put anything in my eyes so I can't wear my contacts (I had from before) and I have 2 vacations coming up back to back so I'm basically screwed and am going to bad eye sight for the next few weeks. I go back in between my trips (next Thursday) and will obviously tell them how horrible my vision still is. They said that if the surgery is jacked up I get a free "enhancement" so I'm assuming I'll qualify for that.
Such a bum deal.

I'm really hoping you had PRK and not Intralase. If so, then that's totally normal. After a week my PRK eye sight wasn't great. But it got there.... PRK needs a few weeks for the healing process to totally work. And then it'll take months for that last bit of touch up.
If you had Intralase, well, wtf...

Re: LASIK - tell me your stories
Interesting, my eyesight was around 20/50 within a week after my PRK.
Different healing times, obviously. I hope they didn't **** up your surgery though. That would really, really suck.

What are you going to tell me next? That eating a vegan diet will make me not be sick for 2 years and give me more energy?
Breaking an arm and having myopia (nearsightedness) are not the same thing.
I assume your 2p2 account is one big troll

Re: LASIK - tell me your stories
My aunt had this done a few years ago. Her vision is now ruined at night and it appears to be permanent. She said it's so bad that she can't drive, and also any forms of lights (car lights, neon signs, etc.) make her nauseous. She described her night vision to be close to that type of vision you get when you're just at the point where you're about to feint and in her case all forms of lights just blend together into 1 blurry light source.
I remember her saying it took close to a month to heal fully. During the day her sight is fine though with no issues.

I don't know the exact details of all your questions.
Around early 2005.
Lasik.
No idea on the specific laser type.
Somewhere in Florida.

Gee, thanks!
Suddenly I'm pretty happy I had PRK.

Re: LASIK - tell me your stories
If anyone knows a good PRK clinic around the Orange County, CA area, pm me please.
I need to do this in order to get a job. If it wasn't for the requirements for uncorrected vision, I would never had wanted to get a laser near my eye.
