Martini or a Vodka Martini if you don't like Gin. You look like less of a git if you can avoid that eyebrow thing people do when they do a James Bond imitation when you order it though. If you've never had one I suggest getting a small group of friends round to experiment with ratios of Vermouth to Gin, you'll find it an afternoon well spent I guarantee it.

When you're outside in the sun relaxing I find you can get away with almost anything particularly if its not served with garnish, umbrellas or in specially shaped glasses. As a general rule though blends of just alcoholic drinks are most manly, the introduction of non-citrus fruit juices and or alchopops are strictly for ladies. It is a bit of a spectrum in between though.

Also, maybe its just my being British but any beer with less that 4% alcohol content is tasteless, pointless and more girly than most cocktails.

I agree completely I tend to drink darker, stouter, stronger beers. But when it is 102 degrees out, they aren't exactly refreshing.

I think op is looking for not totally gay, as opposed to manly

Which can be a small but legitimate concern

Vodka sodas?

Crown and Coke for me usually. Sometimes vodka soda.

Dirty Arnold Palmers/John Dalys are also very good. Try them with Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka. Delicious.

G&T, V&T, martini, Bloody Mary, Manhattan, Old Fashioned... there are tons of drinks out there I might think of as more masculine, and even more that I wouldn't really do a double-take if a guy ordered. Someone should ask Wookie to lay down his favorites, he's the closest to an encyclopedia of this stuff that I know of on OOT.

I'm pretty sure any "boring" mixed drink wouldn't be questioned.
(whiskey & coke, rum & coke, gin & tonic, vodka tonic, etc).

The only thing that's really going to draw attention to you is if you go with something that has lots of garnishes or a bright pink color.

However, if you're in the mood for a margarita/pina colada/whatever, just order it. It's just a drink.

Just go ahead and order your cosmopolitan or mojito like you know you want to. Nobody is judging you.

yes they are.

How to Make a Caesar Cocktail:

1½ oz Vodka
Dash Worcestershire Sauce
Dash Tabasco
Salt & Pepper
Top Clamato Juice

Rim glass with celery salt and garnish with celery and a lime (optionally a pickled hot pepper).
I believe this drink is supposed to be made with Gin.

Edit: I guess not. Although the Canadian (from Toronto) who make me the only one I've ever had used gin.

First off, I'd say alot of semi-girly drinks become acceptable

1) its before 5pm
2) you are outside
3) its over 80 degrees

frozen daiquiri's, mojitos etc all come it to play

I'm assuming you are looking for more help that <clear liquor> and tonic. A solid one that I wouldn't say is too girly is the El Diablo:

Double shot of Tequila
Shot of creme de casis (it gets less manly if the bartender doesn't know this and you have to say it outloud)
Top off with ginger ale and a double squeeze of lime.

No you don't. A bloody mary is made with tomato juice, not clamato. Changes the drink completely, and for the better to use clam juice.

My suggestion for a mixed drink is a greyhound: vodka+grapefruit juice. Maybe not the manliest, but it is simple and not overtly girly.

if you really want a manly drink, order a double shot of everclear in a highball glass at the bar, preferably from a cute and flirtatious bartender. when she says something about what a rough drink that is, say, "baby, you ain't seen nothing yet," and whip out your dick and start masturbating vigorously (the goal is to climax quickly). cum in the everclear glass, stir it with your dick, raise it and look into her shocked eyes with a wink and a "here's looking at you, kid," then down it.

call it a Fiery Snowball.

An LIT is 2+ shots in medium volume glass. That's gotta give it some sort of manliness.
