Looks a tad slow and overly sentimental. Will probably watch tho'

That line from the trailer playing down the value of engineers is quite annoying. It sounds like engineers is exactly what the world does need in that situation. Who else is going to solve the problem? Farmers? LOL.

No idea why I watched the second trailer. Still looking forward to this though.

It would be interesting to know at what part in the movie does the 2nd trailer take place.

Nolan is tied with Coen Bros for my favorite director

I have really been waiting for a movie to become the GOAT in terms of space travel taking place after our current space program but before Star Trek where we already have raster than light travel. I hope this is it

I love his films. The first trailer does not make me excited though.

Am I the only one that immediately thinks of 2001 (and Contact, I guess)?

Every project has a point where you need to shoot the engineers and move to production.

Contact for sure. Every time I see an interesting looking preview like this I immediately wonder why they don't just make an HBO series instead. I'm not a big Nolan fan so I have reservations.

The trailer doesn't look great but I'm glad Nolan is back to making movies without Batman in them

Yea, I kind of wish I hadn't seen the 2nd preview but Nolan has been pretty good about not spoiling too much in the trailers for his other films so hopefully that trend continues here.

For sure. I basically want another 2001: A Space Odyssey - a movie that infected people with a sense of child-like awe and wonder and made them dream of something bigger than themselves. The first teaser for Interstellar blew my ****ing mind.

Seems to have kind of a similar tone as Contact (one of my favorite guilty pleasure movies of all time..and the book is amazing). The human race journeying into the unknown. MM is in both as well!

2001? Definitely.

I think shows set in space are inherently expensive to make. I know Firefly cost a ton anyway. HBO could get it done, though. Would be epic.

Mostly because of the cgi they need for any outside shot of space

I'm hoping these earth scenes are the first 15% of the movie, not 50%. It's encouraging that they aren't showing ANYTHING from after they go through the wormhole.

Trailer, meh

But given director, and to a lesser extent main actor, this is a must see opening weekend.

So besides being led by a top tier director in the middle of his prime and an actor on the hottest of hot streaks (Mud, Magic Mike, Dallas Buyers Club, The Wolf of Wall Street, True Detective..I mean come on) this movie also has a ridiculous supporting cast.

Academy Award winning actress Anne Hathaway -

Best known for being that chick who died in Les Miserables and who gave us way too many feels while doing so. Also for being an ok catwoman (lol Halle Berry amirite).

Academy Award nominated Jessica Chastain -

The girl who kicked ass in Zero Dark Thirty.

William Devine -

President from 24...and apparently 3-4 other shows.

Eric Forman from That '70s Show-

The guy who stared at Thora Birch's breasts in American Beauty and then wasn't heard from for 10 years -

Academy Award nominated Casey Affleck -

Trying to escape his brother's shadow since 1997.

Multiple Academy Award winner and all around badass Michael ****ing Caine -

Michael Caine is his name, giving fatherly advice is his game.

Academy Award nominated John Lithgow -

Sure why not.

Academy Award winner and legend Ellen Burstyn -

Responsible for some of the best acting i've ever seen (Requiem for a Dream). But hey, the horse from Erin Brockobitch was better, obviously. RAGE

Is it a remake, sequel, prequel or reboot of Intergalactic?

I just hope this isn't as disappointing as Inception.
