I agree with everything mikeynikes has said. Confidence and feeling comfortable when talking to girls gets you a long, long way.

My advice is find a girl you've never met before, and impersonate a celebrity/whatever who you think has game. I always do this with hot chicks because you need to be kind of a dick to get them. It's shockingly effective. I have like 3-4 different personalities that I use around women. If you suck at getting girls you're not going to start getting them by being yourself

I did skim the thread for something about this to no avail. OP I absolutely recommend that before you start asking girls out, get a tan. It doesn't have to be a great one. Maybe about a 5-6 out of ten shade. Can you give me a quick rundown of the weather patterns in your area?

Yeah that post seemed odd. Obviously it's preferable if OP isn't a pale ginger, but otherwise I'm surprised that would come up as an initial item of importance.

Not only does a tan make him seem more outgoing and fun but the tan itself is a conversational ice breaker.

Don't listen to that Jersey Shore wannabe requesting the tan. Skin tone, height, weight are all physical attributes that have very little effect on what happens.

Focus on what everyone else is saying: self-confidence, good conversation, relax, don't be afraid to fail

I was sort of like you when I was younger. I was really, really shy in high school. I'd say the best thing by far for me was having a really outgoing guy friend who was also a lady's man who always got me out and doing stuff. If you can friend a really social, outgoing guy I think that would only help. Especially since you're driven now to succeed at this. Of course it's not everything but I think it helps a lot. I think to a degree the people I am around a lot and are friends with shape who I am.

Don't focus on accomplishing whatever little steps can build your confidence, just be confident and you'll succeed.

if you live in a colder climate, it's definitely not as important. if you live in fl, where it's warm/hot 10 months out of the year, not having at least a slight tan implies that you don't go out much (wearing shorts/short sleeves longer, more daylight hours).
