I always thought of posts like this as mildly annoying but harmless...until one day my sister-in-law posted some paragraph along the lines of "Teachers work hard to do blah, blah, blah, and blah, if a teacher has made a difference in your life, repost this" (she's a teacher obv).
Much to my surprise, a whole bunch of people, including my wife's (former) friend, came out of the woodwork to post angry "must be nice to work six hours a day for 180 days a year" and "teachers are the reason my kid's messed up" type messages in response. It was a nice flame war that went on for a couple of days, wish I still had access to the posts (a lot of stuff wound up getting deleted). Was kind of entertaining while it lasted.
