This is similar to the people that announce they put someone else on ignore on the forum.

I give everyone a three strike rule before block and/or deleting them. Most people that get one strike disappear within 24-48 hours.

Sometimes I wonder why it is that some of us are so annoyed by other people's acts of self-expression (be it on facebook, or in real life). Perhaps there is some greater psychological meaning behind this all, or perhaps we are simply annoyed by others for no clear reason. I'm thinking that it may have to do with jealousy at some subconscious level. Perhaps we are envious of the fact that others are so willing to express themselves, while we are more hesitant to do so. Perhaps everyone reading and posting in this thread is a jealous wannabe attention whore (myself included). Who knows...

LOL the only people who really annoy me on FB are the people who constantly complain about their ****ty life but never do anything about it.

Like I said earlier lately my FB news feeds have been mostly people posting music videos.

there's tons more like this from bunches of idiots on FB and i will stop there.

i'm pretty sure i have been defriended by a few people for making replies like the one above lol. good riddance morans.

I do think there is merit to this, but also this:

People with perception/awareness tend to analyze what makes people make these updates in the first place. The result of this analysis is often unflattering to the FB status poster eg: low intelligence, pseudo intelligence, narcissism, humble bragging, shallowness etc. The motives can also be positive though, like making people laugh and just wanting to share articles/youtubes.

So basically...reading things like FB posts, and old school reading peoples AIM away messages, can give insight into that person (even though they weren't meaning to or they were trying to send off a different vibe than received)

Guy puts up this stuff on his Facebook, it's pretty interesting to say the least. I would say he has ~15-20 or so. Classics like, "Books are useless when TV exists.".

FB is wonderful for allowing people the opportunity to put their immediate thoughts in digital form to be forever immortalized in the sea of mostly garbage data that is the internet. It paints an almost surreal picture of the state of mankind when the majority of FB updates are full of inane drivel leaving one in a state of desire to jam a screwdriver into their own eye socket.

^Although that's my post here, it looks an awful lot like a FB status update (it's less than 420 characters, too)

Hm.... At the risk of being defriended by a few.... Oh well, firing away.

Loves doing several reps of a machine at the gym, and the some tough dudes come along marveling at the weight and make bets with each other that they can do one

at least he got **** for that one

I have a lot of them, admittedly. I do get told all the time by my friends "ZOMG i love your status updates!" and at least 50% of the time I make an effort to put something clever or funny on there, so I think that redeems a lot of my crap. But seriously, if it bothers you, just block it out of your newsfeed. Don't go all tiltmonkey over it.

Cancer doesn't take a person It takes a mother, father, grandma, grandpa, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, cousin, a lover, a soulmate a friend, past, present and future and a piece A piece of everyone they knew, how they touched our lives Cancer takes one life AND all other lives around it All of the things in the world to fight for We still haven't found a cure Take the funding for politics and nonsense and shove it!

I really hate how some things in life are just not fair. It's not even a childish statement. Why are some things one way and others another. Even as an adult I still believe that "it's not fair" and I always will. Some of the best people in the world suffer and it's not freaking fair that we can't do anything about it. We are forced to just accept it and I refuse to!
Quote:
They say god works in mysterious ways Be that as it may, I still do not understand or accept why horrible things have to happen. I get good, bad and balance and blah blah blah Why can 2 people, same problem, one survives one doesn't, I don't believe it's because they prayed to some god about survival. The world needs to be informed that enough is enough with the cancer, the suffering, the hostility the nonsense!

I can't believe I have to go through all of this BS because of the incompetence of others. If this is what it's come to the hell with it!

I like my agression up front where I can see it and deal with it. I'm tired of the weak-minded passive-aggressive bull**** that people fling while claiming to be "non-confrontational". Anyone who can't confront/address issues head-on isn't someone I care to spend much time in the company of.

All,

Surprised this one hasn't been posted:

Quote:
All of us have a thousand wishes. To be thinner, to be bigger, have more money, have a cool car, a day off, a new phone, to date the person of your dreams. A cancer patient only has one wish, to kick cancer's ass. I know that 97% of you won't post this as your status, but my friends will be the 3% that do. In honor of someone who died, or is fighting cancer, or even had cancer, post this for at least one hour.
Hate pretty much every status update asking you to post it.

I hate the vague ones that are just begging for comments like "omg, I'm so upset right now"

Don't have any of those recently, this is the most annoying one I got today:
