Re: idiotic / narcissistic / annoying facebook statuses
Making a baby is just part of being human. Raising that baby to be a good person is definitely bragworthy.

Why? The creation of the child could be a net negative on mankind as a whole.

That analogy makes no sense.

Re: idiotic / narcissistic / annoying facebook statuses
To be fair, neither does your statement that there's inherent good in popping out a baby.
So maybe its a meta-analogy.

Do you not understand that there are long term consequences to your actions or do you somehow believe having positive intentions just magically makes things turn out okay? You understand that the world isn't just some endless fount of resources and space and sunshine, right?

The "New Englander who moves to LA/the south posting pictures of the warm temp readout of their cars thermometer and adding some lol sorry guys! caption" is really on fire the past month.

Could be, could not be. Who knows, it's a fetus that we know nothing about. Generally I think it's a positive to produce a human who has a chance at being a net positive.

I get that repetition of that same tired **** is annoying, but why is the subject of pregnancy especially worse for some people? Personally I give pregant women more room to be attention whores, while it seems like some people itt give them less.

Re: idiotic / narcissistic / annoying facebook statuses
Well bare belly pics are gross. My wife just recently created a FB and cringes at the things some people share about their personal life. I have about 30 pics of my kid over the past 14 mos (mostly from 3-4 uploads). By comparison, my best friend has about 200 of his stupid yorkie (a new pic every other day). I don't think anybody ITT has complained about dog pics, but they are easily the most annoying pics posted on my news feed.

The way this is phrased grammatically, it sounds like they have so many kids to name that they are outsourcing it to tumblr.

Agreed. I am totally down with cute babies doing cute stuff just like I am down with pics of my friends doing some standard activity. As long as that activity isn't pooping or taking a pic of yourself that says 'from God' on your belly.

I was wondering if anyone was going to add this.
I upload about 3-4 pictures of my puppy a month (all at the same time). I think that's a good amount to keep the people that care up to date without bothering everyone else and making me seem like a crazy dog owner.
For young kids (say less than one year old) I think a couple pictures every couple of weeks seems reasonable. Once your kid hits a certain age though you don't need to keep uploading new pictures - your kid isn't changing that much.
