chain statuses. "post this for one hour if you love jesus and aren't ashamed to show it!!" why don't you try some self-flagelation next time

this type of post seems to be pretty universal. almost everyone I have on FB who goes on a holiday to anywhere hot seems to spend half their trip in an internet cafe uploading 90 pics and then captioning half of those with "OMG wow so hot here/me at the beach sry guys lol"...

as with baby/pet posting, I have no objections being kept up to date if they're doing/seeing interesting things. it's the excessive bloggy, braggy style that earns my undying emnity.

FWIW I'd WAY rather see pictures of dogs than people's babies. Moderation would be key, but 4 pictures loaded once a month wouldn't be overkill to me, unless it was accompanied by annoying updates like "Lassie just wants to snuggle tonight" or stupid **** like that.

Lagdonk, couldn't the same thing be said about a funny or entertaining thread? It starts with a small group of like-minded people enjoying funny FB status, but then as people don't want to repeat posts they keep reaching further and further for funny until someone says "that's not funny" and the whole thing explodes into mass chaos.

Snaggle that exact first one happened yesterday to me. This girl writes something like "All men are jerks until proven otherwise" and of course I had to make some smartass remark. This then gets 50+ comments of women like "Amen girl" "You go sister" etc so I had to delete her asap. It made my stomach hurt.

Yeah I think almost everyone has the token female friend whose relationship status changes on a weekly basis. The switches to "single" usually accompanied by lots of likes and "you go girl, you deserve so much better!" comments from female friends and the switches back to "in a relationship" accompanied by "wuv u baby" from the dude.

Even worse than making narcissistic annoying facebook statuses it is when you see someone copy one verbatim and repost it as his. This usually happens when said idiotic status happens to attract female attention. Example, a coworker posted "Happy Women's Day! When is Our Day?" within half our a common acquaintance copy pasts it on his wall. Suggestions for ways to ridicule him? This is also the same type of guy who would look through people's profile and friend any good looking females he finds.

I'm still laughing from the awesome statuses from the 42 year old guy who lives with his parents. Great stuff.

The only statuses that bother me are those where people make pointless posts about errands they're running and inane stuff like that.

Other than that no problems.

I work 24 hours a day. Why? Because I am a Mom, I am an alarm clock, a cook, a maid, a teacher, a nanny, a nurse, a handyman, a security officer, a photographer, a counselor, an ATM, a jungle gym, a comforter & much more. I don't get holidays, sick pay or days off. I work through the DAY... &... NIGHT.... I am on call at ALL hours......MY Kids come 1st no matter what! Re-post if you are a proud Mother !!!!!!!
Saw this gem today. Are there a lot of women ashamed of being a mother?

What's so ridiculous about those mommy posts is that it's like they forget they were once one of those people who got holidays, sick pay, and time off. Why attack other moms who don't yet (or won't) have kids? It's complete lunacy.

I agree. I also have a problem with how they act all selfless. It was a conscious decision that you didn't do just for humanitarian purposes. While I think its great that you're raising your kid well (if that's the case) I also think its great to volunteer or dedicate your life to fighting cancer or half a million other things so get off your high horse.

I work with a lot of women that are new mothers or have young children. They def seem to fall into two categories, the ones who won't shut the F up about their kids, and the ones who talk about them what I view is an appropiate amount of the time.

I'm stoked to be a father one day, but I don't think I will constantly bore everyone around me with stories about my kids. I think thats kind of the crux of what everyone is getting at with these motherhood status updates...
