Re: ICP Miracles
The ICP video really is about the funniest thing I've ever seen. It's just mesmerizing in its complete earnestness and lack of self-awareness.
Agree that the SNL video was redundant and couldn't top the original.

Re: ICP Miracles
Maybe not a technical parody, but I have to think it's pretty damn self aware. I mean I have to assume the intent was to be funny and not honestly introspective about the magic of the world.

I agree with Triumph; I think that's a bad assumption.

Re: ICP Miracles
It's a cheesy video, but their entire schtick is cheese, so it's not like that's any reason to stop. If you want to view them as crafty and scheming, instead of parody I think it's still far more likely that they decided their fanbase wanted to hear some "positive" music and adopted a worldview they thought would be congruent with what the fans wanted. Considerably more likely still is just that this is how they think about ****. It's not like even good hip-hop isn't full of people with ideas that most of us would probably consider dumb or unacceptable. (EDIT: For example, I like One Be Lo's SONOGRAM, but it is jarring to listen to a guy come out with "them apes ain't evolved, I can't swallow your vomit.")

That's right America, magic does exist. We've known about this for some 2,000 years...

That can still be worthwhile, as you can now reduce a huge body of information down to a couple of basic empirical axioms.
While many of the people laughing at this song do not understand magnets, I suspect not many of them share this attitude, which is the real anti-intellectualism:
And I don’t wanna talk to a scientist
Y’all mother****ers lying, and getting me pissed
Serious business aside, they're also talking about pelicans and rainbows and Dark Carnivals and juggalos while rapping poorly and made up like chunky middle aged clowns. What's not to laugh at?

spend 30 seconds listening to any interview theyve ever given.
They are that dumb. IMO, theres zero chance that song is anything other than 100% sincere to them

Wow...just...wow. My initial thoughts were exactly with Dids when I first saw the video.
Wasn't ICP one of the first groups to completely sell out and appear on an MTV 'fake' concert where the entire audience was payed by sprite or something? I learned that in a college class so it must be true right?
