Wtf? even friends on prepaid plans have unlimited texting so not sure how it's a ripoff but more like a tax on the uninformed.

while the soda is a ripoff in a movie theater, it's really hard to pour rum into a coke bottle in the dark, so you're really paying for the cup to mix your huge ass rum and coke in. as a parent of a seven year old, buzzed is the only way I can sit through a kids' movie.
also, pop your own popcorn put it in ziplock bags and carry a backpack. if they give you grief, just tell them you're allergic to the movie popcorn (the cooking oil or the butter or whatever), so you pop your own.

unlimited texting costs $20 a month on at&t. of course i canceled a year ago and just use google voice for texts now, but it is kinda ghetto when you have to explain to someone that you have a phone number and a text number, unless they have an iphone also then we're gold.

You could just give people on your GV number (have it dial your cell) and not your regular phone number. Why do they need your regular cell # at all?

I did the same thing a year ago (cancelled my $10 texting plan for a $5 one) and now just give out my GV #. I'm at the point now where I should probably cancel my $5 plan since paying per-text will end up being cheaper.

And it costs AT&T approximately $0 to provide that service.

Just do what I do: use an iPhone, and make sure to only be friends with people who also have iPhones. Problem solved.*

*OK problem not solved which actually if anyone knows: why does iMessage sometimes "deliver as text/sms"? Is this a breakdown on the carrier side?

I dont know how us cons operate but in the UK there is nothing against you taking your own food to a movie. As long as its not too pungent.

I used to work at a theater in CA.

Popcorn is cooked in coconut oil, then the cost of the free "butter" they offer has to come from somewhere. ( That butter is just butter flavored shortening anyway...gross)

Iced tea on the other hand is just water, tea leaves, and sugar. And 5.50 for a soda? Iced tea is a waaay bigger rip off.....

Who wants some sweaty oaf bringing a huge sandwich and plopping down right next to you? He's eating this thing, spilling sauce and tomatoes and **** all over himself and you, making a huge mess all throughout the movie....

"Not too pungent"....yea that rule would not be followed nor enforced most likely.

Don't think it won't happen? Ive had people change their kid's diapers in their seat...in the middle of a movie.
