And it's not the same thing because those who didn't get snacks would end up paying more than they do now and those who do get snacks would pay less, theoretically.
You're right, I wasn't thinking.

My ex and I used to sneak in great big subs in her purse.

Why do people have to stuff their faces while watching a movie? Just go 90 minutes without food or drink.

Re: Iced Tea v. Movie Popcorn: Which is the bigger rip-off?

That's a good question. For me it's tradition, popcorn is just part of the deal with movies and has been since I was a little kid. Only now I go for a bottled water instead of the 839 oz soda.

It's like how au gratin potatoes and apple sauce just seem to go with pork chops. My girl tries to put mashed potatoes on the side instead and it's all weird.

When taking a date how else are you going to cut a hole in the bottom of the bucket if you don't purchase popcorn?

Re: Iced Tea v. Movie Popcorn: Which is the bigger rip-off?

On the one hand subsidizing ticket prices by charging extra for the popcorn seems like a reasonable accommodation for the externalities incurred by those theatergoers who would prefer to not smell, hear or step on that stuff. On the other hand it is clearly unreasonable to expect anyone to go 90 minutes without stuffing their face. Tuff call.

This. Also been to the red sox game last night and was charged $8.25 for a cup of piss beer which didn't make me very happy.

They're both rip offs obviously but I rate it to enjoyment. I enjoy eating popcorn more than iced tea so Ice tea would be the bigger rip off to me.

Texting is the biggest rip-off. 10 cents to send. 2 cents to receive on many plans. Yet the actually information is piggybacked on other transmissions.
