This thread is for contests of sports capping prowess, other wagering contests like eating challenges for money (distinct, of course, from OOT eating celebrations), and general discussion of sports betting and gambling in general.
The first contest to get underway is an ongoing Turkey Day Hunchcap. I'll post the main post here next.
Later in the week, I'll post some of the previous fun hunchcaps we've created around March Madness, Super Bowl, etc so we can easily run those again.
-$50 or $100 entry, winner take most, second takes a little.
-All picks are on a new Pick Monitor account
-Post a link to your PM account itt before you start making picks
-All picks available on Pick Monitor are valid
-All picks are 1 unit picks so if it's a favorite you'll win less than that unit; an underdog you'll win more.
-All picks are between -200 and +300
-40 picks that START between Friday and Wednesday, END by Thanksgiving Day
-3 picks on Turkey Day NFL game 1
-3 picks on Turkey Day NFL game 2
-4 picks on Turkey Day NFL game 3
- penalties as outlined in the last few HCs. Basically don't risk anything other than 1 unit, don't bet both sides of the same game to burn picks (intentionally or not), don't make picks that are happening next month, picks with odds outside the range, etc
- any unused picks at the end will count as a 1 unit loss. Any picks over the 50 are voided and incur a penalty to avoid angling
- basically just stay within the spirit of the HC, don't fat finger your picks like Howard or become senile like redbuck, and you should be penalty free

Current pay out to $50 entrants: $550 to first, $100 to second.
Current bonus pay out to $100 entrants: +$350 to first, +$100 to second
So if #1 person is $100 entry, they win $900.
If #1 and #2 are $50 entries they win $550 and $100, the highest ranked $100 entry wins $350, and second highest ranked $100 entry wins $100.

Subscribed. Trumpcapper is off to a solid start, +1.72 over my first six picks. I'm sure that won't last, though, as all I'm doing is throwing darts with a mild tribal bias towards teams I like for whatever random reason. Larry, jmakin seems correct to me: there would seem to be no real reason to delete the other thread. Locking it should be sufficient.
ETA: Its Asian Odds, you actually made two separate bets. You had a half unit on under 3.5 and a half unit on under 3. You pushed one and won the other for a half unit win.
You can always email Patrick and threaten to burn down his entire village if you aren't credited with a full win. That's what our former handicapping expert would recommend.
