Does anyone know whether in OPs video or in David Blaine's special on netflix if the person getting the trick played on is ever in on the trick and they're just acting surprised?

You idiots not realizing when videos are obviously staged is part of the reason Trump won. I've seen the worst acting imaginable in videos that even "smart" people on forums like this eat up like ****ing sheep.

the trick is to do this 52 times and only show the one time it does work.

A friend told me years ago he'd watched a programme that confirmed he used stooges (could never find it though).

I do find the reactions of the people in all of his tricks cringingly hard to watch.

'Whaaaaat? That's impossible.' Lol

When hiring stooges, you don't want to pay for the best actors.

I've seen variations of this trick a couple different ways with cards, pens, coins sometimes and there are a couple of ways to do it that I know of. If done clean it's almost certainly just two different bills and Blaine's walking off with his burnt bill in his pocket.

He isn't above using stooges (or video editing) but he's still really good at sleight-of-hand, so who really knows.

My favorite was watching him with my semi-racist father-in-law and he says, "hey why do black guys always run away when you show them magic tricks." I just kind of laughed because he's an old coot I humor for everything, and I ask for the punch line. He's like, "no, look." But kept watching and yea sure enough it kept happening. He'd reveal this trick and the room would clear out, then they'd all come back.

It's called the Berglas Effect. But Blaine's take on it makes it even more difficult to explain than the original version.

No doubt the two in the clip knew what was going to happen, they may have even shot it a couple of times. But that's not relevant. My question is how does he do it? Serial number on the bill doesn't change, the cig is real, and it sure looks like it burns through to me.

do you not know what "magic" is? just accept this rational explanation and move on
