Guys, I eat hot sauce all day long, and have been doing so for many years.

1.) Whoever said the Tabasco habanero is not spicy should go away. It is very spicy, and very good.

2.) Someone ALWAYS has to roll in with "Dave's Insanity Sauce." It has no flavor. It's pointless.

3.) The idea that the great empire of Great Britain has allowed CURRY to become its "national dish" is just sad. How could bangers and mash have gotten back-burnered?

4.) Sriracha is not that spicy, but it is a delicious and wonderful thing. I wouldn't put it anywhere near a freakin burrito, but that's just me. The flavors just don't match up.

5.) I just had larb gai (ordered "Thai hot", which was blinding but flavorful) and a red curry duckling...I used sriracha on top of what they tried to kill me with, then the soothing wonders of the curry duck brought me back to reality. So goooot.

6.) No way is spicy food bad for you. I am almost sure it is quite the opposite. I have no basis on which to make this claim.

Nandos is great, one of the few hotsauces we get over here that can balance flavour and heat. I went through a solid year adding it on literally everything.

It is pretty traditional but bangers and mash was never a national dish. There was a time fish and chips ruled all, but we have been converting to foreign food within less than a generation, with our own twist, as we became more multicultural.

I mean in 53 we celebrated the coronation of the Queen with Coronation chicken which is still a hugely popular dish. We have long enjoyed "none traditional" food.

I've long entertained a theory that cultures that dislike spicy foods, e.g., the Midwestern US, are naturally going to be fatter / unhealthier than other demographics, all things being equal, just because if you don't like spiciness, all you have left for flavor enhancers are fat, salt and sugar.

Crystal brand hotsauce is the best imo.

Some is very high in sodium and many people use it on a common food with tons of sodium already before it aka chicken wings..

Obv tons probably is bad but if your in good health then some shouldn't hurt you.

I like hot sauce but some of this fire/blazzin stuff is pushing it a bit not to mention the feeling in a few hours or the next day coming out your butt.

Was considering getting some of Franks from here a couple weeks ago.

Any other recommended brands?

I was nodding my head in agreement like out of reflex because of the way this is worded but then I was like, huh?

I just went and bought a bottle of Nandos as a result of this thread...flavour is pretty good but not hot enough for my taste...

For now this is the best stuff I've found commonly available in the UK:
