Over-the-top flattery (not for our benefit but while we were present) of him at school functions, physically touching him (not sexual of course) but lingering and unnecessary, and what I would have considered flirting (at school functions) if the same behavior had been directed at me by a woman. And only directed at our son while there were dozens of other kids present!

It just seemed weird and inappropriate to us--one of those things that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand out. And, tbh, the kid's accomplishments didn't seem all that impressive to us (or his other teachers), but he is a pretty cute little guy with a solid sense of humor.

addendum to prior reply: I forgot the weirdest one.

He was in a few plays at school--never one of the prominent players--but in one particular play, he did deliver several "punch lines" that he had written as the class had written the entire play. Other kids did the same of course. This particular teacher was seated several seats from us, and she absolutely howled and cackled at every line of his but showed hardly any reaction to any of the other students. Hardly anyone else in the audience sounded more than a quick giggle or laugh to our son's lines. Absolutely strange.
