I was in a similar situation, but I guarantee no matter how much money I may have made, having "gambling" as my primary source of income would not have worked with my girl, her family, or my family.

So I stayed in school, got a 9-5, eventually got married (to her), started a family and live a life of quiet upper middle class desperation, making WAY less (in the short term at least).

At first, I thought I would really miss my freedom, but after a while you get used to what you are doing and things are ok, and you get used to waking up at 6 am and going to bed at 10 pm and only having a couple hours (at most) to do what you actually want to be doing a week.

This probably isn't helping you at all OP, but it is the truth.
I know you're speaking in hyperbole, but I'm sure around ~5 million when they won't give a damn.

there are definitely some people who don't have a price.
and usually it's because they have to care what their friends/family think.

no amount of money will convince them to spit in the face of everyone they're close to.

Still in love with an ex. I have no idea what I'll go when she gets engaged. I'm thinking an incredibly large amount of scotch will be involved.

I bet you that you'll have an affair with her one day 5 years from now when both of you are married and are bored of your significant other.
It will be another 1st that you guys can share with each other and probably the best you will ever have.

edit: Alobar's advice is spot on . Move on op and play this song next time you feel down , it will cheer you up

that was a lot of brags in one post OP. anyways you're a pro poker player and you were trying to make it work with someone who doesn't approve of your profession... clearly that's not gonna work... on to the next one.

You state you made more than her BF the last whatever years but he is a retail bank employee so it isn't like he makes all that much money. To judge if this is really about security or not we'd need to know what kind of money you make -- not an amount but more or less than $100k a year? People discount gambling winnings a lot but with the exception of religious people and people who have been burned by degenerates in the past I have never met anyone who completely dismisses gambling winnings (especially not for someone who has been at it for over a decade).

The second thing is you mentioned taxes but it was unclear if gambling winnings are not taxable income where you live or if you are just not paying taxes. I have no issues with tax avoidance but if security is the issue this would have aggravated the situation.

Beyond that it is 11 years. You knew what the choice was and you choose poker over the girl. Don't be all emo about it now.

Hello 2+2, sorry it has taken a while to respond. I have been very busy. So Henry, my income fluctuates every year, but since I was 20 I have averaged about $90,000 every year after taxes. I live in Canada. About 5 years ago I bought an apartment complex, and I run a solar farm, so I have a lot of assets as well.

What a lot of people are forgetting is it's not me chasing her all these years, she calls me, she comes over at 2am, we have slept together many times after we broke up, all initiated by her, yet she doesn't ask and I don't as well about personal relationships. We have both been unfaithful when we have had sex. We last had sex a year ago when she came over after she got into a big fight with her now fiancee.

I really believe a lot of the pressure comes from her parents. She also told me last night she is in her 30s now and wants to have a child soon. She is worried about the child not being healthy as she gets older.

In any case, yes, I am more into her then she is into me, that is obvious, the money issues were when we were in our early 20s.

She told me last night maybe if i had a regular job, and her family accepted me, and that she knew there would always be income for a family, we would be married by now.

All of you think I only care about money or I said I make more then her fiancee, I only said that because I wanted to show her double standard.

I am not some money grubbing *******. I give to charity every year and volunteer 20 hours a week for make a wish foundation. Do not judge me over 1 post.

It's hard to block her off facebook or e-mail when she just shows up. She is a knockout too so it's not so easy to turn down the sex.

I have accepted it will never happen and move on, I am just figuring out how to do it. It's not so easy when you have been in love with someone for a decade. And don't give me all this crap about "if you really loved her you'd get a corporate job". I would HATE myself, my life, and I know I would resent her, THAT is no way to live and not an option for me. If I was not successful, then sure, time to admit it and pack it up, but I am, and I have never failed to make an excellent income or financial decisions in my life.

I want to be with her, but not at the cost of destroying my own happiness.

I would argue that you are a business owner now. If I understand those solar farms have way above market rates for energy and pretty long contracts. At least in Ontario not sure if that is the case across the rest of Canada.

You made your choice and I would say the correct choice so give yourself a few days of being all emo then move on. I mean you might not have talked about love life stuff but you knew she had a BF so this was just a matter of time. Instead of drinking scotch at home alone I suggest you get a few mates and head on down to the Brass Rail. Leave the cell phone at home so you don't do any stupid drunk dialing.

This is last year at my place. She is about 5ft, 4", 110, 34C

Please don't ask, no more pics

Now you can see my dilemma when she comes over and is "lonely"

I am heading out tonight, should be a good time, thx for posts Henry

Solar farm is 20 year contract, initial investment was about 250K, all income is tax free over 20 years, I am pumping out good amounts, i have rotational arrays to maximize energy collection. I have an electrical engineering degree so I did a lot of the work myself.

You are not being honest with yourself. You have a very high income. About a million in earnings before you are 30 puts you in the top 10% or higher for your age bracket/income. You have multiple assets and a college degree that you can fall back on.

My guess is that you never satisfied her sexually. I am just not buying the whole security/poker thing. This bank clerk probably has a horse ****.

Sounds like you have a lot going for you – except the hang up about the girl. Just get over her, get a better girl, keep the booty call with the ex and lead a baller life style with your income – sounds pretty damn winning to me.

There are better females than her. Sure she is hot, but she is quite clearly... a bint... are her tits real btw? If real then I can see your problem, because tits like that on firm bodies are hard to find + available.

Anyway, she is screwing someone else, get over it. Experiencing jealousy? Its a ****er isn't it... embrace the pain, save it up, and put that energy into another woman. My first gf was kind of similar, parents didn't respect me, and girls are liars also, but you learn from that first one I think. The mistake was loving her. Simple. YOu gave her too much power. Now you are free and you need to take your power back/build it up so you can use it on other females.

Exercise, and burn some money. If I was in your position financially I would have like 4 of her,

You could get her back but its too late, she chose him over you, and now she is sexually disgusting and her vagina is tainted. All this friend **** is fine I suppose, I stayed friends with my 1st girl after split up but it ended up being kind of pointless... still care about her but what is the point in maintaining a relationship?

This bank manager dude probably loves her aswell and would get jealous ect so I would steer clear from her. Find something fresh. Keep in mind you can find a like 8, who has a good heart, and motivate her to improve herself and make her perfect. DOn't go looking for perfection, you ahve to see them kind of like dogs, they need trained. Her dad was her master more than you and now this new guy is her master if her dad still isn't.

Can you read or are you just ******ed?

I never chose poker over her. I chose freedom. Poker was 10-15% of my income. Next time read.

She is "hot" but I have been with girls hotter, younger, and with better bodies.

One of the great things about money AND freedom is being able to fly down to Cuba once a month for 5-6 days, and have sexual intercourse with 18-19 year old young women that are 9.8s.

Henry will know. Americans, not so much.

If I want a smoking hot 10 at my door, it takes $300 and 1 hour. I have plenty of digits of upscale whores. Hot women is not the problem, spending my life with someone that loves me for me is the problem.

PS. Her breasts are real. As for the people who say I am not good in bed... why do you think she keeps coming over 3-4 times a month? I have a huge co%^ thank you very much. I am good looking, and in great shape. I have zero problems picking up 9+'s.

If you can get all the hot poon you want, why would you sweat this girl for spending the rest of your life with? It makes no sense. She likes to bone you but doesn't want to be with you.

this is interesting, constantly allowing himself to be used by women and their image it seems. There is no such thing as a '10' prostitute.
