That should be a +1.

My wife tried (unsuccessfully) for 6 month to get me to cut mine back to the thirty-day beard I had for the last couple of years. Then our boy started pulling it everytime I rocked him to sleep. Had to cut it in iterations until it got too short enough for him to pull.

You've obv never kissed a man with an uber heavy beard, or engaged in other activities for that matter. Wife has.

LOL Not EVERY cup, just the first cup of a new coffee procedure.

This thread was started more for how to deal with the pushy Dunkin Manager because I get social anxiety.

As a new poster, Josie, did you know you can multi quote so you can do multiple responses at once rather than 3-4 consecutive posts?

On the lower right portion of a post, there are three buttons. To multi quote, hit the middle tab, the one with two pages and a green plus sign, on every post you'd like to quote and respond to, then when you post reply, all of the posts will be there and allow you to respond in a single post.

Omg thank you! I've seen others reply to multiple quotes in one post but had no idea how to do it, and yes, I've wanted to. TY

You're welcome. Everyone had someone fill them in at some point, the interface here isn't always intuitive.

My fancy coffee friend recommends Howell Coffees. The owner, George Howell, was the founder of the Coffee Connection, which he sold to Starbucks decades ago. Now he has opened a few stores, and you can order online or pick up at the "roastery" in Acton. http://www.georgehowellcoffee.com/roastery/ . You can also probably buy beans at the coffee shops.

I had a Howell's Brazilian/Kenyan blend today at my friend's house, straight espresso shot, and got a huge citrus blast.

There goes SgtRJ again, being all condescending and knowing-it-all stuff.

But was very helpful.

Thanks, I just checked out the link. Looks yummy. I will try out, though small complaint. They sell their coffee by 12 0z, not by the lb. Who only buys 12 oz of ground coffee?

I like that it's a local (to me) roastery. See my user-title.

I'll have to check them out in Newtonville when I get my Rancatore's ice cream fix.

Ranc's!

The service at my local Ranc's is a bit spotty, but it's a good product.

hey man, you are a good moderator, you told someone about a forum feature without being snarky and condescending and threatening banishment with mod powers.

Yes they seem to have an issue remembering more than one ingredient at a time in your order!

I had a super high end roaster close to me once and the owner sold me only what beans I would use in a week. He said the flavor drop off was so high after a week but nobody really had tasted super fresh coffee. He went out of business after a few years - go figure.

In that case, 12 oz is plenty and that does make sense. I still have coffee from the last few pounds I picked up here and there.

Speaking of "super high end roasters" I think a mod should change my user title to "super high end Roastie". Just a suggestion!

The flavor drop off might be huge for a couple hardcore enthusiasts but prolly won't be significantly noticeable for >90% of coffee lovers which means >99% of coffee drinkers won't care.

When I visit my hometown I always go to a roasterie where the owner adjusts his espresso machine based on barometric pressure and humidity. When I asked him something about our Rancilio Silvia he told me that was totally dependent on our water hardness and when I was like 'but we are in the same city, shouldn't the hardness of water be the same?' the look on his face was somewhere between condescending and pitiful.
