Haha

Sure disparaging but also very clever which amuses me.

Speaking of fat/big boned, just a moment ago I joined a gym! About to head out for my first workout there!

You had me at chocolatey.
I think coffee noobs, especially from North America, always say they want dark, chocolately coffee. It's probably a palate thing we're used to with the kinds of beans and roasts that are most common here. I was the same way when I attempted to make better coffee, but then learned what I really like is basically the opposite: citrusy, floral, and bright.

I started a batch of Kenyan AA today and it is absolutely amazing. It tastes like a fresh bouquet of flowers with hand-squeezed lemon. It almost seems fake that this flavor can come out of a coffee bean. However, this is hot through a Hario V60 so it may not work well with cold, but there's no reason you can't keep doing both and picking the best coffees for each type. If you decide you really like hot coffee, I would recommend either getting an SCAA-certified machine or hand pouring through a V60 or Chemex.

I don't like coffee at all, but this seems to be somewhat worse.

I like hot coffee too and yes I just automatically gravitate to dark, thinking light roast is like dishwater. My next lb is going to be Kenyan light roast....find it hard to believe coffee can taste floral and lemony but I'm sure you're not bull****ting. Do you drink it black or add milk/cream/almondmilk?

Re: Help! Dunkin Donuts Issues

I am not much of a coffee drinker but when I was younger I was working as a longshoreman I unloaded countless bags of coffee. Kenyan bags are nice ,soft material, not too heavy at around 130 pounds, the coffee smells nice when raw and a has a nice colour.
Avoid coffee from Vietnam and India. I personally would also avoid Jamaica blue mountain its decent but very overpriced because it is shipped in barrels instead of bags.
Columbian coffee is decent but if you want to show some compassion for longshoreman around the world avoid it. Those mother****ers use the roughest tear your skin apart bags in existence and put 150 pounds of coffee in them.
Doesn't sound like much of difference between 130 and 150 but it is. I hated those bags so much.
Seriously **** those bags!

So your under title should really be Longshoreman Survivor!

Ty for sharing. Such an interesting post.

Re: bags, when I was in school one of my ****ty jobs was moving 50lb bags of flour. I'm 5'1". My trick was to grab it in the middle, like where it's waist would be if it were a dude. Weight was balanced that way but after a few it still sucked.

Dude you're my undertitle twin. Ours were born on the same day.

Black. If you're paying $15+ for a pound of coffee, it should be good enough to not need cream.
