Have a $200 bet with friend.

It works like this.

For every $ spent at McDonald's you have that many minutes to eat the food. Drinks don't count and aren't part of the calculation...so you can't order meals. You can get a drink if you want to help eat, but it doesn't count towards $ spent.

So $20 worth of food means you have to eat it in 20 minutes. Failure to eat it all means you lose.

We are doing an auction against each other with $ increments until one person passes.

I'm thinking of going up to about $25. If he wants to go $26 food in 26 minutes, I'll let him do that.

Loser of the bet also has to pay for the food.

How high would you go? What food do you recommend eating?

Note: It's only standard menu stuff, so if they have some $10 McLobster or something that doesn't count.

ordering a bunch of 4-packs of mcnuggets at $2 a pop seems like a pretty solid strategy

ETA: here is a menu with prices https://www.fastfoodmenuprices.com/mcdonalds-prices/

cool bet

Yeah econos plan seems like the play to me.

I can't remember if I hit 80 nuggets or not so my threshold would be somewhere around $40

Wasn't there a similar bet in NVG recently? I believe there was a bunch of strategy discussion in that thread.

My friend told me they have egg white patties you can buy now for way too much money. Getting just mass egg whites seems to be the play.

house,

Seems like $26 is a pretty low number to stop at.

Nuggets are the way to go unless they are on some crazy sale. 80 was not that difficult, even though I was uncomfortable for a few hours after.

We still need to finalize terms but this kind of angle shooting won't be allowed. Eg. Can't order 5 x 4-pack nuggets instead of a 20 pack.

Egg whites likely not allowed and apple slices is questionable.

terms should be no specialty orders (that is, can't make modifications to anything, have to order as is), can't order the same item twice.

How is that an angle? You guys seem nitty. If its on the menu its fair game.

That would make the bet a lot more fun and challenging, imo.

House,

OK, so this is a bet between friends on how much normal McD's stuff you can eat, like burgers, nuggets, fries, shakes? (I think you guys should allow them), ice cream, pies, etc.

Some things that look good for this:

Artisan Grilled Chicken $5.62 (360)
Premium McWrap Chicken & Ranch (Grilled or Crispy) $5.62 (420)
Filet-O-Fish $4.85 (379)
Quarter Pounder with Cheese $4.85 (417)

Looks like that McWrap is discontinued, unfortunately. So I'd go with like 2 artisan grilled chicken, a couple filet o fish, and a couple QPC. That seems doable. Maybe toss in a fries. So $30-32 or so. Does tax count towards the total?

OK maybe I'm crazy and there's no way I could eat those six sandwiches in half an hour. But I did put down like 2100 calories in pizza rolls in about that time. So this would be what... 2300 in sandwich calories for $30.65+tax. Definitely doable imo.

6 artisan grilled chicken for $33.72 and only 2160 calories is prob better choice, but I think I'd find the variety easier.

say you bid 25$ the other person should chose the food they eat imo

Nuggets absolutely can't be the play. Specialty sandwiches have to have the highest dollar/gram ratio, which is what you're looking for in a bulk eating contest. A couple of 8 dollar sandwiches add up quick

I dunno, then it just opens up the angle of ordering different kinds of burgers!

better twist on that: Instead of auctioning dollar amounts, alternate bidding on menu items.

Player A: Big Mac
Player B: 10 piece nugget
Player A: Filet-o-Fish
Player B: no bid, eat those three items in 11 minutes

Angleshoot pro tip: If you order a burger without some of the fillings, it still costs the same amount. For example you can order a double cheeseburger without patties and cheese and even without the bread. Obv this is a super dodgy angle, but it's one that I never see mentioned in this bets
