Dilemma....How I can find a way to move to Orange County Dilemma....How I can find a way to move to Orange County

I live in the bay area w/my wife and kids. She has her own business here (stylist) and her family. She definitely doesn't want to move for both reasons. I am a grinder, but have lately gotten really burnt out. I do have a B.S. from an above average university.

So here's the problem. I hate the bay area and I love Newport Beach in Orange County. I have wanted to move there for YEARS. The only thing keeping me here is my wife. But tbh I detest the bay. I'm racking my brain thinking of ways to move there. She said she'd consider moving there if I found a 100k/year job. Yeah, easier said than done. I tried applying to a few jobs down there that pay 50k/year and never get any replies back.

So I ask you my cyber friends for some ideas on how the hell I can pull this move off??? The thought of being stuck in the bay for life makes me sick (and totally depressed).

Peace!

so you want us to tell you how to get a job that pays 100k a year when you aren't qualified for a job that pays 50k a year?

^^^ lol that's funny because I was going to advise you NOT to move to OC and I live in SF. I'm originally from LA and hated living in SoCal. It's all fake t*ts are real ***holes if you ask me.

In all seriousness though, why the 6 figure stipulation?

I believe the city that has been the topic of discussion is Newport beach. One of the highest dui rates in the country too! Woop woop

Driving home some nights I feel like i'm in death race.

Why not try to work where you are for a while and then start applying? I've venture to guess that the reason you didn't get called back was a lack of experience.

And OC sucks. Well at least where I live (Costa Mesa) does.

I pay 1800 for a 1 bedroom right on the border of Santa Ana and have recently discovered that 2" cockroaches find my balcony desirable. I'm just being bitter...

CM is nice for the money.

I'll take it back, west side costa mesa sucks ass everything else is good. East/north side isn't bad imo, but that's kind of where you're at? Border of santa ana is usually super white/nice/wealthy, like all I can picture when you say "borders santa ana" is around south coast plaza area. Down by Gisler it gets hookerish but still not bad. variance imo. I lived next to Triangle Square for 2 years and it was sweet. I miss it there.

course I am in NB now but costa mesa is super cheap and close to the beach + tons of college kids = great times

Move in with the Cohen's. I think their pool house is still vacant since Ryan moved out. They don't charge rent and it should be ample space until you can get your 100k a year gig.

Ding Ding Ding. Avenue of the Arts. It was nice until I saw one, then 3, then seven or so HUGE cockroaches on my balcony the last couple weeks. Now I'm scared to do my laundry at night and am constantly spraying everywhere. I moved here from Colorado where we don't get bugs except for crickets, I'm not used to this ****.

Triangle Square is real nice.

I think it all depends where in SoCal you are and where in NorCal you are. Some people are totally into the SF lifestyle, which is pretty different than being almost anywhere in SoCal. Also "LA" can mean Malibu (very nice) or East LA (not so nice). I'm more into coastal towns from Huntington down south to SD. Verrrryyy nice! lol

The 6 figure stipulation is b/c she needs to make sure my job pays fairly well before she shuts her business down, says adios to the fam and uproots. I get that.
