It was hilarious doing it while chatting on ICQ (lol those were the days) and disabling vowels, disabling the space bar etc. My personal favourite was sending them a message "want a drink coaster?" and then opening their CD drive. They had no idea what was going on...
I built a similar program that I would install on friend's computers at LAN parties. When they would sign on to the net it would send a message to my ICQ with their IP, then I could have fun with their computer.
Instead of drink coasters I'd have the message pop up saying "Make love to me" then the CDROM tray would open & close a bunch. It was a lot of fun.
Also, I'd use it at lan parties to have fun with their mouse. They are running along all nice then suddenly they pull out their rocket launcher and shoot at their feet for no reason. I got one guy to start blaming it on magnetic interference from the circuits in the wall next to him.
Also, one time I plugged my friend's speaker into my computer and looped the ICQ startup sound (loud fog horn). He got VERY confused when it persisted while he was rebooting his computer. It took him a good 10 minutes of fog horn to figure it out....
