So pretty much some of my friends were on shrooms. They've all taken shrooms before and smoke pot daily. Apparently one guy started talking about how he thought he might be gay and howt he felt confused. So now I'm wondering if this is more likely to be the truth or just a hallucination.

Shrooms alter your perception of reality they don't actually change reality like acid will.

When I did shrooms it made it seem like pictures on the walls were talking to me or i could see faces in leaves of trees but i knew in my mind it wasn't real which is why it was fun to me.

So I would think if you are capable of some sort of self control and self awareness, you know whether you think you are gay or not. He probably was able to admit it to himself/ you while under the influence, but he is not going to hallucinate being gay.

I think he's probably gay. I've only done pretty low doses of shrooms where I didn't hallucinate much, but I really can't imagine saying something like that on shrooms without meaning it, and obv shrooms make you really introspective, which can def lead to opening up.

I also was really really honest on shrooms, but I def don't have enough experience to know if that's normal.

but fwiw if you havent done shrooms before.. making up huge lies like, 'zomg im gay' are not things that pop up in your head mid trip unless you mean it

Actually, that's not necessarily true. I've seen people getting waaaay crazier ideas and according to OP he was only talking about him being 'confused' or some such.

With the risk of being called gay, I don't think it's 100% that he is gay from a comment on shrooms.

I took shrooms one time and my mind was confused (not sexually). I wasn't very good at putting together rational thoughts.

I think it's more important how he interacts with you, and your other friends when he's drunk or sober. If he flirts with men, doesn't comment on women, etc.

I think the older he is the more likely he's gay.

At the very least it's a really weird comment for a straight guy.

dont know...that sounds weird and gay imo...but perhaps he was only confused about the definition of the word gay itself...people can get confused about pretty silly stuff...i can recall me hearing an hiphop song under the influence and wasnt sure what was meant with some words in the context.

mostly likely he was just opening up and its true, if he sounded sincere or emotional and said like 'i have fantasies about men' then there is def some truth to it

but he could also have been musing, talking about some ******ed theory about his own psyche, i've had some pretty ******ed thoughts that prompt me to say dumb **** on acid. on psychedelics you can come up with really convoluted theories and might muse something stupid like, to take the earlier example, 'maybe girls seem hottest to us at 11yo but society stops it" or something of that nature, it doesn't mean you like 11yos, it just means you're a drugged up idiot who overthinks everything and not only that, thinks your own dumb theories are worthy of sharing with others
