If you're going Hungry Man, you gotta go Classic Fried Chicken. No matter the time of year, it's a timeless classic!

It would be bad if I brought an app or something right?

I'm planning on bringing 2 loaves of bread (cranberry walnut and sesame poppy), and maybe some fresh churned vanilla ice cream based on a post upthread. And some nice wine.

Thoughts?

I read that as he should bake his own bread.

You don't have to know how, or be willing to, cook with my method. Considering how many of these setups they sell, I'm not the only one in that category. The turkeys I've gotten are really good, btw. As good as any other I've had.

Buying perogies or cabbage rolls and cream sauce from some local baba is too easy
Okay, I don't even know what a baba is.

That looks kinda awful. The setup I mentioned has a whole 10-12 pound turkey in it.

I wasn't able to look for the exact recipe tonight but found one online that sounds pretty close to it. This is definitely my favorite way to prepare cauliflower. Actually I don't even really like it when cooked any other way.

Fo sho. My fiancee made them last year for my fam's Tday, which was already strained bc she's a Vegan and we're pretty meaty, but they were the best thing at the meal (good thing bc it was the only thing she could eat besides the weird tofurkey loaf thing she brought for herself).

Although I just remembered the other big hit was the other thing she made; for an appetizer while we waited for the meal, she made tempura fried artichoke hearts with a lemon butter parmesan (all Vegan) dipping sauce. Freaking killer.

That's my plan for this year. I don't think it will be terrible. I hear the Harris Teeter thanksgiving for one platters are pretty decent.

Hungarian pickles done, tried some tonight with sour cream fantastic.

Cauliflower par-boiled, making a variation of Alex Guarnaschelli broiled-cauliflower-steaks-with-parsley-and-lemon

Also got inspired and made bacon deviled eggs for morning firepit at friends before HS football game. Is there a better 7am beer and firepit food?

Happy Fanksgiving everyone!

I really, really crave that stuff and I'm tempted to go to a nearby school for lunch, but I'm afraid the terrorists have put an end to strangers eating in the cafeteria.
I was watching some videos recently my friend's daughter took at her HS--daily brawls and even students punching teachers(wtf??)...supposedly multiple cops on-duty at the school--yet nowhere to be found during all this stuff. Makes me think a rando at lunch would be ok....if you could manage to avoid being attacked by a student.

Cauliflower was nothing earth-shattering, probably wouldn't make again:

Hungarian cucumbers were fantastic, will make often:

This roasted cauliflower is amazing — I posted the recipe in the steak thread a year or so ago… good luck with finding it! Contains prosciutto tho—you were going for a veg thing, right? Course it's probably the prosciutto that makes it taste so good.

I'm glad the cucumbers worked out for you. Quick, cheap and unique. A lot of people have never had them prepared that way. Some people like to put in onion in with it, but I like them as is. A lot of folks don't like onions...so why give them something that may be a negative.
