Anger management issues much?

Looks like your ex did a good job kicking your sorry ass to the curb.

Hate to burst your bubble but I gave her the walking papers. I didn't have no time for no low balling old woman over a 2 damn dollar pair of brand new jeans with the tags still on them either. Yeah I'm a fairly grouchy old man sometimes though

I had an old HDTV that would no longer accept any input signals, took about an hour for some guy who replaces cracked screens to buy it for 50 bucks. Guess I ran good

have bought and sold a lot of stuff on CL, mostly music gear.

selling music gear is way easier than selling cars. that's the worst. i've had pretty good luck buying cars on CL (my last three non-hand-me-down cars), but selling them sucks.

best deal i ever made on CL was turning a crappy solid state peavey amp (worth maybe 100 bucks) into a MIJ fender jag bass in two steps. i've also bought several vintage amps at really low prices just by being patient and waiting for the right opportunity.

lots of good stuff in the free section as well but you pretty much need to own a truck and be ready to jump on it. i got a lot of furniture that way in NYC because moving is such a colossal pain in the ass there, people end up giving away really good stuff.

number one thing with CL is to be patient and avoid the ads where people are just out of their minds. you get nowhere trying to haggle people, most of them really have no idea what their **** is worth and will drive you crazy. you have to wait for a good deal to pop up and then jump on it really fast. same thing with buyers, you just have to list your stuff at fair price and if someone seems like a flake or a pain in the ass when they respond, they probably are.

If you were at least decent and at one point could hit all your shots 3.5 is probably a good area to start yourself at. If you were a killer in HS then I'd suggest 4.0+. I recommend using the USTA find a partner site, there is a higher chance of getting a good matchup skill-wise there. I have found several people to play with who I've had tons of fun playing.

People (including me) usually overestimate their ratings at least a little.. It's natural for tennis (and poker) players to do

Just bought a coffee table off CL.

Still in box, exact one I wanted. $10 off retail and saved me a 3-hour trip to CL.

Part of the problem is that my game is so polarized. I could hit a consistent 100mph-ish 1st serve, had a good kickserve for my 2nd, and I have reasonable volleys and backhand, but my forehand has always been the bane of my existence. In HS I did pretty well running around my shots to hit backhands, but anyone decent would eventually figure this out and then place the ball to my forehand and then gg me.

So that's the thing, like... if 3.5 is "hitting all your shots," then... how about "all your shots minus a forehand?" But 3.0 just seems too low... lol...

I just sold some gym equipment for $100. If anyone has tried to sell fitness stuff, it's pretty much impossible. Not sure how I lucked out so easily.

I was trying to buy gym equipment, but everyone is either selling complete rusted garbage, or asking retail for good stuff in used but great condition.

Just send everyone with good stuff a lowball offer via email. Not much effort if it doesn't work out and you get what you want if it does.

He made it a daily mission to respond and make ads. None of them hot unfortunately. Mostly bbw beasts. One time when he was desperate for money he made a post to let a guy blow him for money back when cl still had the adult section. Had lots of responses but couldn't muster up the courage to do it.

One of my other friends bought an iphone from some super smoking hot asian girl. He was persistent with becoming her boyfriend. Called/texted her a lot. Eventually it paid off and they dated. I lost touch with him now, so I don't know what ended up happening.

Another friend sold an Iphone and was paid in cash, but one of the $100 bills ended up being counterfeited. He didn't notice till it was too late. Bill was decent quality. You could tell, but you had to be paying attention to details.

Someone else I know was selling an iphone and met the customer at a fast food joint. They meet in parking lot, Customer is a girl, and she wants to play around with it to make sure it works. They stand there and she's playing around with it. Suddenly another guy comes out of nowhere and hits my buddy with a bat. Girl and guy tries to steal iphone and get away. They get in a car and start driving away. Buddy isn't Ko'd he quickly gets in his own car and chases them. He's not far behind and calls cops, and they eventually catch the people.
Great thread. This is f***ing unbelievable.

He said that if we had any trouble to contact his neighbors, so at least he told someone, ha.

Ha, no way, I thought his story was hilarious and was going to reply as much even before I saw your post. Wish I had done what he did when the cheap-ass was trying to haggle a $1 item for 50 cents at my friend's garage sale. Could have bought the item and torn it up right in front of her - for only a buck I could have clowned on someone who sucks at life. A bargain at twice the price.

Dude didn't even wanna haggle when I sold..paid my asking price. I got $100, but would have snap called $50. Shoot a ton of offers..good chance they are fat and just want it out of their house.

My roommate is selling a few motorcycle-related things on CL right now, including a racing motorcycle. A guy came to look at the bike yesterday, passed on the bike, but saw the one-piece leather suit that street racers wear, and bought that instead.

So Roomie writes a note to a different guy who had expressed interest via email in the suit, to tell him sorry, it sold.

"What? You said you'd hold it for me!" No, Roomie never said that. This is CraigsList, pal--first guy to show up with the cash, gets it.

As of bedtime last night, Roomie has received twenty-five emails from Jilted Suit Guy. In one day. Can you imagine?

I posted 2 seperate ads on CL. One for a motorcycle ehaust, one for a motorcycle seat. Plain stock items, not hard to find. Priced for the "going rate".

They emailed me about the items and I responded the next day that they were still available. Then I got this a few minutes later. This has to be some sort of scam, right? But, I don't get it. How does this work?

Probably even worse--they'll "accidentally" make the check out for something more and ask you to return the excess, so they'll have your stuff and some of your money.

Or they'll make it for more "intentionally" and ask that you pay the courier because giving him a check is just too hard or something like that. Same end result.
