awkward situation, introducing a girl I'm seeing.

So I was sent to the east coast for work last year for 3 months in a very boring town. Met a girl and we hung out for a good 2.5 months, she knew I was going back west. So she comes out west to visit me and we go out with friends and I introduce her to as my friend, not girlfriend. The second I say this is my friend Katrina, she turns her head and makes eye contact but there is this weird silence and a 1 sec stare that is ingrained in my head.

Now it's just cold every time we interact, like I slighted her somehow. How do I introduce her again without offending her but also not leading her on because I don't think 2,000 mile relationships work.

If she feels slighted, tell her you were unsure what she would be comfortable with, and you wanted to respect her privacy on those kinds of matters... if you weren't dating her seriously then how can she be upset at you for this

This situation is only weird if you or the person you are dating has like little to no relationship experience otherwise you've learned by now to just introduce her only by her name, and shes learned that unless there is an actual exclusivity talk, shes not your GF.

does it really matter ? i mean, if you don't want it to go anywhere serious she probably doesn't want to stick around as your friend while you start dating other women if she's under the impression you guys are together. it sounds like you weren't being very upfront about things.

i don't think figuring out how to introduce her is the thing you should be trying to figure out here. figure out what is actually going on between you two and be honest, it sounds lke you're still trying to figure out how to be sleazy about this "how do i lead her on enough to keep her around but not lead her on enough to think i actually want to be with her"...
