A tank just sits around your cartomizer, which has holes punched in it, and supplies it with more juice. The only difference with a lava tank from any other tank is that the drip tip is part of the tank top. So it's three pieces; bottom, tube, and top, (plus o rings).

The guy who makes them is jonboyusmc. He makes about 80-100 per month on a lathe. Competition to buy them is fierce due to the limited supply. Also, due to the nature of the material, (acrylics, stone, acrylic impregnated wood, now metal alloys), every tank is different. Info here.

I have to say though, this is the first time a filler carto has kept it's flavor more than a day for me.

I just purchased a pass-thru battery, a few CE4+ clearomizers and liquid. If it works, I'll get something better (ProVari obv). If it doesn't, I'm out just over $50 (and I'll give my extra liquid to the broke guy).

Anyone have any recommendations for cleaning cartomizers maybe even videos? I remember finding a couple before but cant for the life of me find them anywhere now.

Hi all, I have been smoking for 25 years. I have tried lots of different methods to give up but without any success. Yesterday, prompted by my best friend who hasn't smoked for 5 months after buying an electronic cigarette, I took the plunge and ordered mine.

I am in the UK and ordered my e-cig from thesmokersangel.com. 18 hours later my kit arrived through my door. Good start from what I have been told is a very reliable company!

My kit comprises of a charger, 2 battery units and 10 cartomisers (described as "the inhaler, container for the nicotine and the vapouriser are in one piece in this new technology e-cigarette). I also received a mini-kit which includes a case, 2 more cartomisers, another battery and a charger.

I am quietly optimistic that this will be the answer to finally quitting smoking. Having seen my friend, and his wife, both living smoke free lives after both being heavy smokers for years is very encouraging.

I intend to smoke my last normal cigarette tomorrow and then from Saturday onwards only my e-cig. I am starting on the highest level of nicotine, decreasing the amount each month until I reach zero nicotine in about 5 months time.

I'll try to share my experience in this thread and hopefully encourage more people to try to quit smoking.

Looks like they only sell cig-a-likes? They're ok (I quit smoking 3 weeks ago using something similar), but the cartos work out very expensive once you realise they just blatantly lie about the number of "cigs" in each one. It's not so bad if you refill them yourself though.

I've moved on to an ego-w with clearomisers for now (much better), and might get the new version of the lavatube when it's out next month.

Oh, that reminds me, current version of the lavatube kit (mini or normal) is £26/$40 from greenhouse one (the promo code is "lava" iirc): http://www.greenhouseone.com/Electro...-Kits-s/26.htm. Free delivery if you spend $99 too, bargain.

wow, thats a sick deal. any reason i shouldn't pick this up? or is the new version supposed to be that much better?

also, does the mini stack 2 smaller batteries? isn't that supposed to be dangerous or something?

I'm fairly certain the lavatube is designed to run on one 3.7v batt. Pretty sure that trying to stack them would work out badly.

Riff: I browsed the site that you referenced. From what I can tell, they are offering substandard product at inflated prices, and exaggerating the cigarette equivalence of their cartos. Hopefully they work for you, but be aware that when it's time to order more that there are vastly better options.

I may be coming off as overly hostile, but I really despise the misleading claims made by a lot of these companies.

after reading a bit more the mini LT just uses 1 of the small batteries at a time. Cant decide whether to order the mini or the regular one, but at $40 for the kit, it seems like a no brainer.

edit: meh, ships from China and can take 30-45 days.

No problem. I haven't researched any other product. My choice is totally on the basis of seeing two of my closest friends successfully stopping smoking, something that I would not have believed possible a year ago. They are very happy with the choice that they made which is good enough for me. I am not too worried about the money side of it, if I manage to stop smoking whatever I spend doing so will be worth it to me.

You might not be worried about the money side of it but you should be worried about the quality/performance. There are many devices like this out there that take advantage of new/uninformed vapers.

The mini lava tube only uses one battery, 18350, 700 mah

mine seems to last all day pretty easily, and I've used it more since upgrading from my regular 510 kit.

in a post above I complained I didn't like the RY4, well I tried it again and it's not bad at all, I think it was tasting funny to me cause I was getting over being a little sick.

+1. I complained about my E-lites set (similar to the ones on the website that guy bought from, and advertised here on 2+2) not getting anywhere near the performance they indicate. I also had a faulty battery. They replaced the battery, and sent me some extra cartridges as a goodwill gesture. Fair enough.

But I then had one of the batteries stay on after I had inhaled and removed it from my mouth (they're auto batteries). It turned off after I unscrewed the cartridge, thank god. I'll report back when they reply about that. If they don't refund me I'll have to go to trading standards I guess.

Oh, also someone on a uk vaping forum had an idea to trade sets of 10 e-liquid samples with each other in 1ml vials they bought from ebay. Here's a link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1208794554...84.m1497.l2649

Allows you to try loads of different juices for next to nothing. I've got 20 samples off 2 different people, and it's cost me ~£12 total after postage (and I've still got 30 vials left). Great idea imo.

Went ahead and ordered the mini lavatube from greenhouse one today. Cant beat $48 for the kit with 2 batteries, a charger, 2 atty's and a carrying case. even though they are the same price, the regular lavatube just seems way too big at 5" long, especially when my XL CE2's and drip tip will add another 2.75". The batteries for the mini are 700 mAh, which is slightly larger than my Riva batt right now, and it lasts me all day + some.

Random smoking question. If you've fully quit or have been vaping instead do you dream about smoking real cigs a lot?

I quit cold turkey about 2 months ago and lately I've been dreaming of smoking. It's kind of funny because in my dreams I always sneak outside to smoke and then get really disappointed that I started until I eventually wake up.

Btw if anyone is curious, no 2 months isn't enough time for all the urges to go away. I still think about smoking a lot at the computer especially. Past 2 weeks or so have been getting easier though.

It definitely took awhile for me to lose the urge. After like 8 months (cold turkey no ecig) I stopped craving cigarettes at all and can have a drink and literally not even think about smoking.

Just buy some pg/vg nic liquid and a flavor and mix your own. Perhaps not the best but pretty cheap.

It's the "buy" part. I have 18 cents to my name.

I'm waiting on a check. This is what happens when you have 2 month cashouts as your only online poker option.

Really though, I have plenty of money in my poker accounts and can transfer if somebody wants to send me juice.

I quit cold turkey 6 months ago. Definitely had a few dreams where I am smoking and was super confused when I woke up.

The worse thing for me is I live in California and they are running these Smoke free CA tv spots all the time. Those commercials would tempt me so badly I had to change the channel when they came on. There was one that was like a first person view of smoking a cigarette and somehow it ends in the ocean. That **** is not cool when you just quit smoking.

These e-cigs are the best thing that ever happened to me.

On March 5th, 2012, I quit smoking cold turkey after 15 years of smoking at least 1 pack+ a day. Week 1 was a nightmare. I cried all the time & was in constant pain. Then on day 8 of my smoking quit I had a massive panic attack (like nothing I had ever experienced, thought I was dying of a heart attack), so my doctor said to buy this e-cig and get one with zero tobacco and zero nicotine, since they were now available. I had already gone 8 days without tobacco or nicotine so I wasn't looking forward to detoxing again, since you do get rid of ~95% of all the nicotine in your system within 72 hours of last cigarette. But the anxiety was very tough, so the e-cig saved my quitting process. its something to do with your hands and mouth (insert jokes lalala) when the quitting anxiety really hits and you don't wanna be drugged up on xanax or whatever all the time, which I don't. And smokers know that when they run out of cigs they will smoke a piece of rope from the trash, so ya, these e-cigs are amazing.

For anyone thinking of quitting or trying the e-cig, I can't recommend it enough. i never ever thought I'd ever quit smoking cigarettes - much more then addicted, I was psychologically dependent & just LOVED smoking. I am very ashamed of that but oh well... But these e-cigs were a blessing. Now I am off cigs and barely touching the e-cig & I'm so happy about it. This is probably what finding Jesus feels like. lol

I used one called "fifty-ones-trio" - have no idea if best/worst, someone bought it for me, but it looks exactly like a cigarette & charged directly into the computer on a usb port and sells filters with zero nicotine and zero tobacco.

Constant dreams of smoking & I still get cravings. They are however 100% psychological since there is no more nicotine in my system so I immediately start drinking water & try to think of something else. My doctor said to get a timer for the first 2 weeks and time every withdrawal pang, since they can feel like hours long when you are in it, but in actuality last no longer then 3-5 minutes. That helped a lot. GL with quitting! No other decision in your life will be as positive as this one.

From the BWB newsletter:

There are approximately 20-25 drops in 1ml.
There are around 5 puffs in one drop, so about 10 puffs per 2 drops. Two drops is the amount most commonly added when dripping, see below.

A typical user vapes around 3ml / day.

So at 3ml per day:

a 10ml bottle lasts about 3 days.
a 20ml bottle lasts about 1 week.
a 30ml bottle lasts about 10 days.

A 24mg juice means 24mg / ml.

1 analog cigarette = approx. 1mg nicotine absorbed.
1ml of 24mg nicotine juice = 24mg nic... but read further......

The mg stated on juice is what is in the liquid. Only about 1/3 of that is absorbed, possibly a good bit lower (some tests have said as low as 10%; but the maximum is probably 40%). Maybe closer to 30%.

A box of 20 cigs gives aboout 20mg nicotine (20 x 1mg).

2ml of 36mg liquid will give about 2 x 36 x 0.33 = about the same : 20mg absorbed.

So 1 box of analog cigs is roughly equivalent to 2ml of 36mg juice or 3ml of 24mg juice.

Seems about right to me. I'm vaping ~1.5ml of 18-24mg a day and used to smoke about half a pack a day (3 1/2 weeks off them now ).

I've just bought my first mod (only had my ego-w for 2 weeks lol), but it was a bargain. It's an Argento, I'll post some pics when I get it.

Got my first big battery mod, the Argento (aka Indulgence) today. It's a great size, feels nice in the hand and well made (apart from the battery rattling which I knew about before I bought it). I just put some cardboard in the tube and it's pretty much cured it.

£32 delivered with 2 18650 batts, charger, carto tank and 30ml of liquid. Bargain.

Got a couple of the Vision egos (Stardust? - in the pic also) aswell, they're pretty good too. 2 different clearos and some liquids are on the way, and then I wont need to spend anything for a couple of months hopefully. Note the word "need".
