Re: E-cig Thread 2012: Alternative to Smoking
an egoT is similar to a standard 510, just the battery lasts a lot longer in the "sweet spot" before low charge.

Theoretically, no. If you find an atty/carto that is the perfect ohm rating for your battery, and your battery is always 100% charged, there will be no difference in performance. For any practical purpose, yes, you absolutely need a vv device to have consistent maximum performance from your cartos/atties.

Re: E-cig Thread 2012: Alternative to Smoking
Please, do not get an ego-T. It's the worst ****ing device ever. e-cig is very simple. You have Icon, Provari, Darwin, Reo Woodvil, Apollo lavatube and a few others. Just get something good and skip all the beginner crap. You're going to quit smoking, don't worry.
I don't know about cartos or clearos, but the atomizers come from Avid Vaper and Ikenvape. The good cheap ones come from sweet vapes.
I use standard resistance 2.5ohms when using the Apollo. I like the 306 the best. the Ikenvape i06 is pretty sweet. These attys are expensive so what I like to do is vape from 3 devices at a time. Two have a sweet vape 510 atty (they are sold out at the moment sorry, but save the link), and one gets a fancy atty.
This setup isnt so great for on-the-go, but for vaping around the house it's as good as it gets imo. That said, I'm sure there are a ton of great products. I stopped looking cuz I'm basically broke and what I know already is working for me. For flavor and vapor production I think dripping on an atomizer or a bottom feeder like a Reo Woodvil (this is better than a mini or grande imo) is the best way. I think cartos and clearos and tanks are convenient, but may not give the ultimate vape, which is all I care about. I don't want to sacrifice anything.
And don't even think about an Ego-T PLEASE!!!

Yes sorry; i meant in regard to health/side affects
Very spurious but a friend of mine told me of issues in particular with mouth ulcers that has been reported with PG but not VG..... anyone had these issues?

Re: E-cig Thread 2012: Alternative to Smoking
Here's the wiki and some studies, but I'd recommend to anyone to do their own research.
When eliquid was 100% PG it made me cough. I've not heard of anyone getting mouth ulcers from it, but it could certainly happen if you were allergic.
I generally vape higher % VG liquid, but it definitely has PG in it. (Most flavorings are PG based.) There are 100% VG liquids sold, but some will also have an asterisk that their flavoring might contain PG.
I can tell you for certain that I've gotten sores in my mouth from Nicorette along with swollen lymph glands. That's actually what prompted me to look into ecigarettes again. YMMV.

Re: E-cig Thread 2012: Alternative to Smoking
So far so good. Not sure I like the flavours I got so far. The menthol tastes more like colgate toothpaste rather than menthol cigs. Really looking for something that tastes exactly like Marlboro reg or light.
The sensation on my throat is different, slightly harsher I think.
One thing I'm loving is the lack of odor. After 2 days, I can already smell a difference in my apartment. The other night, my gf lit up an analog and I was instantly like :s

Re: E-cig Thread 2012: Alternative to Smoking
mouth ulcers can be a side effect of quitting smoking so if your friend got them soon after he started e-cigs maybe it wasn't the PG

I'm using my Ego-T right now and it is working just fine, now I dont use the tanks but the battery is nice since it has a USB passthrough.

Re: E-cig Thread 2012: Alternative to Smoking
I hate my eGo-T with a passion..stock anyway, maybe different atty's would be a lot better. I probably won't even bother with it anymore though.

I've just got an 1100 mah ego-w kit, which comes with clearomisers instead of attys. Loving it so far, gives really nice flavour.
It's a bit too long though, esp with the pen cap on. Should maybe have gone for the 650mah one.
I'll probably get a vv eventually (the stainless steel apollo lavatube does look good) but I'm happy with my ego for now.

I'm afraid you're not going to find it. I probably bought 15 different tobacco flavors trying to find anything that tasted like ANY cigar/cigarette that I used to smoke. I got nothing.
HOWEVER, once I moved to some of the other flavored options like menthol, caramel, and fruit flavors, I found that I preferred them to the taste of cigarettes. I bummed a marlboro off of someone this weekend, and couldn't even finish it. Did nothing for me.
Just understand that you're not necessarily going to fall in love with vaping after a couple of days, or even a week. It takes a little time to get your equipment like you want it, and juice that you like. It's well worth the effort though.

Re: E-cig Thread 2012: Alternative to Smoking
Ordered some more new-to-me juice from backwoods brew.
Got the berry bliss, waffle, and some more menthol and caramel cappuccino.
Gotta say that for flavor and throat hit, this place never disappoints.

Re: E-cig Thread 2012: Alternative to Smoking
Backwoods Brew is the nuts for tobacco flavors. It's all I vape. He's got some straight up tobacco based on Marlboro flavor. I never thought I'd like this stuff but damn it tastes so good. Adirondack, Virginia, Casablanca, 555 Exotic, Backo, etc. He's also got a really good Espresso, root beer, and cola. He also has some fruity tobacco. The best is Applewood. I'm looking forward to Orchard Frost which has a tobacco base with menthol and fruit mixed in. If you want tobacco, there is only one place to find it.

What's the berry bliss like? I've tried some of Don's fruit flavors and I don't really like them. They kind of have an artificial taste.
You ought to try the Malty. At first I hated it. I kept going back to it and then it hit me - cotton candy! There's a new one called Conundrum that I might pick up too.
