Glad you like the SVD! My button is black, but also "clear" - you can see the three different coloured LEDs through it when it fires, reflecting battery state. I prefer my Protank2 at 9 or 10 W too, seems we like a similar heat. Your experiences with the "consistency" - yes, this is a regulated device, compared to the ego which is not.

Pick up some 18350 batteries for taking out and about if you consider it too large with an 18650 - I have a few for this purpose. Makes it way more pocketable, takes a about an inch off the length (telescopic part is almost all the way closed when using this smaller battery).

my button is also black but clear.

glad you're enjoying the svd, dave. I've recommended it to a few people with no complaints. and I have several regs in the poker room who want to keep borrowing it!

only complaint I have, and have seen is that it seems to auto turn itself off at random moments. very easy to get used to and just triple tap the power button when you feel no draw.

My svd turns off by itself pretty often, other than that I like it. I've still been trying to find the best type of tank (top, don't know all correct terminology) to go with it.

I had a carto on it and it **** out after a week. The thing would get ridic hot and I started getting a weird burnt taste, not like a coil burn but a plastic burn.

Now I've got some crazy new tank thing that I picked up at a new vape shop that opened in my town. It looks like a tank, but uses a wick that connects to a homemade coil. The wick goes down below where the liquid is, but you can drip liquid on the top wick.

Only problem with this one is I'll get a burnt (wick) taste if I hit it multiple times in a row without turning it upside down or dripping on the top wick. Not very practical other than for home vaping, but I get some pretty dope clouds with it.

Yes, mine is also "clear" and gives off the light-show. I didn't mean to suggest that it is opaque.

There was one other difference between this one and the PBusardo review. When he pushed the +/- button, the device moved the voltage or watts up and down on the first push. Now, one press just shows where the voltage or watts is set at. To move the numbers up or down, you'd have to continue clicking.

I find it interesting that Innokin links to his review on the product page, even though much of the information is outdated. Shows they really took his suggestions to heart. Gotta respect a company for that, considering how much he was right.

I guess so. I sat the battery next to the device. It completely dwarfs the battery.

I managed to kill one 18650 during the work-day, thus it lasted a hair longer than the eGo. It would have been a good thing I brought the other battery except for the silly fact that the second charger is apparently broken so that battery was DOA (or maybe the battery is bad, but I don't think so). I was almost home anyways, so no biggy.

So much for 3600 mAh.

Have you tried the iClear 30S? It is sort of a carto / clearo hybrid, and the thing is pretty darn good. Even people at work was pretty glad to see I ended up with it. One said that was the second best tank he ever had, behind the AeroTank.

This guy explains the 30S pretty well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5aUOUhhXu0Y

I'm pretty sure the tank is the item you don't want to short-change yourself on. The cheap / no-name tanks are universally bad from what I've tried so far.

From what I've tried, IMO:

iClear 30S > Kanger MT3S > iClear 30B* > CE4 > no-name throwaways (various ones) > Aspire BDC**

* I still like a powerful throat-hit. This tank is great if you are into lung-hits as it has a airy, light vapor and decent flavor (though not as much as the better two). I agree with everything Rip Trippers has to say on it, although vaping on 1.8 Ohms is a large improvement over 2.x Ohms: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzttKpZa1bY

** The Aspire BDC is aptly called "inconsistent." A good coil does very well, but finding that good coil proves elusive. Grimm Green titles his video "Hit and miss and miss." Rip Tripper's data points are probably spot-on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSC3kFRvUT0

What mix of juice are you guys vaping on? I've found I like 70/30 PG/VG or 100% VG so far. Not liking 50/50 at all. I wouldn't mind trying out 100% PG but haven't really ran across it yet.

Seems like on ECF they've taken to calling whatever heating device goes on the battery a "Topper". Seems like as good a name as any, we needed a broad descriptive word.

I was 80pg20vg but I started getting a heavy feeling in my lungs. I switched to 100pg and it seems to have helped. This may have just been coincidental.

So I have my e cig (Think it's an ego t*) With ce4 clearomiser* . It has to remain upright otherwise the e liquid will go into that little hole on the clearomiser.

My friend has a similar e cig with a different looking clearo that has a seal around the hole so if he tips his e cig upside down by accident it won't leak or damage anything. Anybody tell me the name of this clearo ?

Nice work Spoon, looks very nice. What setup are you using to let the customers taste juices?

got 1.8o evods and iclear 16's on 650mAh egos for most everything. then for the citrus i put a mini-PT2 on a VV ego so people get a sense of a slight upgrade, plus the citrus eats plastic.

oddly enough, the first 4 people in the door didn't wanna try the flavors, just wanted to see the stuff. one said he didn't have time to try them, he was here for 30 minutes.

I see. I was more curious about how to sterilize between users. Swab with rubbing alcohol?

That is a beautiful store spoonfox! All the places in LA are the size of a large hallway and generally look like a garage sale.

Thanks for the kind word and well wishes guys! The idea is to be a place that grown ups feel comfortable shopping. I was sick of going to headshop-ish places to get my stuff, and I'm only 32, so I can't imagine what people of my parents generation think of those places.

I don't know why it took me so long to get into rebuildables but damn they give a good vape. I'm still loving my Kayfun clone (from Fasttech) built to around 1.6 ohms vaping at 13 or so watts. WAY better than any other tank I've used. Now I'm using a Trident RDA (rebuildable dripping atomizer) and have it dialed in with dual coils reading .60 ohms on a mechanical mod (Smoktech Magneto) and it is hitting like a beast. I'm really liking the sub-ohm (<1 ohm) thing. One thing, if you are interested in that make sure you have the batteries that can handle the output as sub-ohming is very taxing on them and can cause dangerous battery failure without batteries with the proper specs.

Seriously, what batteries are you using for that kind of mod? Sony or something else?

I wanted to talk about these UltraFire batteries. They don't hold the promise they say on the side. They state 3600 mAh, but they don't last much longer than my eGo 650, which is about 4 hours or so.

I'm not sure if the volt-reader matters, but on max charge, the SVD reads 4.2V. It holds okay until they get down to 3.9V. At this point, they drain down to 3.2 in about 10 minutes, which is where the SVD stops working.

They also take a long time to charge.

I'm not going to worry about it for right now. I'll look into getting something better at a later time. Just wanted to say that these are obviously sub-par.

Jesus. Not quite there yet but I'm making some pretty impressive vapor. I've always been a bit of a cloud chaser but that is insane. I have found that with the high wattage/sub-ohming that I need to lower the nicotine levels because of too much throat hit. I was always an 18mg guy but recently went down to 12mg. Even that is pretty strong right now, I'm probably gonna drop to 6 or 8mg pretty soon.

The general rule of thumb in the vaping community is that any batteries with "fire" in their name are crap (Ultrafire, Trustfire, etc). Also, you can usually ignore the mah ratings as they are usually inflated and inaccurate. Try 101Vape.com for batteries, they are located in Carlsbad and ship really fast.

These are good for sub-ohm builds (30 amp discharge is very good): http://101vape.com/batteries-charger...-battery-.html

I also use these for my SVD:http://101vape.com/batteries-charger...-flat-top.html
And these for going out and about:http://101vape.com/batteries-charger...-flat-top.html
