i wouldn't trust the claims too much. I've tried the no-nicotine cartridges and they are deeply unsatisfying. You'll still have the urge to smoke cigarettes just as much as if you went cold turkey.

I agree. I actually asked how it helps you quit smoking and their official response is that 90% of cigarette addiction is the physical hand to mouth movement. If this has any truth it's an oral fixation but they won't use that term. It's funny they would make up a random percentage like that anyway.

Re: The e-cig: Healthy cigarette alternative

Yah, for hardcore smokers, the physical nicotine addiction is what drives the habit. For me, it was really easy to transfer the addiction from cigarettes to e-cigs & then from cigarettes to nicorette nasal spray. But to this day, I haven't been able to get off nicotine. I'm as addicted to nasal spray right now as i was to cigarettes. But at least nasal spray is nowhere as harmful as cigarettes.

So what's the consensus on this contraption? Can you smoke pot with it?

Lonely_but_rich you should serioulsy go check out the http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/for...rette-reviews/ there are much better options than the Smoke Assassin, it's pretty much considered a rip off in the e-cig world.

Re: The e-cig: Healthy cigarette alternative

I love my e-cig. I bought mine around 6 months ago from totally wicked. At first i was not impressed with the prefilled tips. Just gross. But then I decided to buy the liquid myself. This is the key. Finding a flavor that you like. I chose a medium strength menthol liquid, and as soon as i received it I quit my pack a day camel habit. Each time i ran out of liquid i would order the next strength down. i have been using zero strength liquid for a while and still love it. for me it is just a cleaner way to enjoy smoking. this product really opened my eyes. i can smell things again. my clothes don't reek anymore and that alone is worth the price of admission. i continue to use mine today for the pure enjoyment of smoking. all of my smoker friends have also been converted. i would strongly recommend this to anyone who wants help quitting or just wants a cleaner way to enjoy smoking.

And here's the Vapor4life section

This is something I'm very interested in, but don't have the time to research.

Please tell me what specifically you ordered to begin. I'm also a heavy smoker, Marlboro Lights or Marlboro 27's.

Re: The e-cig: Healthy cigarette alternative

entertainme,
The VaporKing is a great starter & Steve from Vapor4life is supposed to be really good in terms of products + customer service.

You can buy a kit here for $89.50
http://store.vapor4life.com/product_p/vk-1000-pcc.htm

If you like it then you can buy some more cartridges with different flavours (http://store.vapor4life.com/category_s/2.htm)

and at a later date you might want to start making your own juice or buy a high-voltage mod (loads of info on http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/)
But don't spend too much at first, get a VK starter kit & see if you enjoy it.

Any recommendations for cartridges? It would seem Mboro is he logical place to start. Their standard only has a 0 mg option, then clearance shows 8 mg? How does that work?

I wouldn't get anything less than 16-24mg myself & I used to be a 1 pack a day smoker.

Looks like they've run out of high nicotine content malboro flavour.
Flavouring is definitely subjective. Most of the tastes are real nice tho & trying/discovering new flavours is half of of the fun.

The vaporiser in these operates at a temperature that would apparently destroy the active ingredients in a thc juice. Do a search for vapor genie - you still use a lighter to heat, but get vapor, not smoke.

I only tried 2 brands from one supplier, but did a fair bit of research before hand. The Titan/510/VaporKing(?) is fantastic, although the DSE 901 is a solid second choice. Totally Wicked (UK) have been very good for me. Someone mentioned the prefilled carts being poor, this totally matches my experience. Buy some juice and refill.

As for cessastion, I can say that these worked for me. I cut from 36mg all the way down to 0mg over a couple of months. I haven't been bothered going looking for the cigs I lost down the back of my sofa, so haven't had a smoke of any kind for a week or 2. My gf still smokes hers as normal, but I don't think she really feels a need to quit these.

Even if you never quit these, the difference is astounding - they don't smell, you can run without feeling like your chest is going to explode, you get your taste buds back and it still feels for the most part like a cigarette.

Re: The e-cig: Healthy cigarette alternative

[QUOTE=-zero-;13368323]I've been selling e-cigs for a while now so I know a lot about them if anyone has any questions.

I am new to "vaping" my girls got me the E-cig E9 and it works pretty good although one of the batteries is a little troublesome. I like the disposable cartridges. Now I am hearing that E-Cig has lots of issues. My biggest Con if you will is that I don't "feel it"
Any advise you can give would be appreciated
