I am having a home bar built and I need to stock the bar. I have $1500 dollar budget for liquor. Let me know how you would spend the money. Thanks, Mike

Put more effort into your bar than you put into starting this thread.

I don't believe you can get Coors Light that cheap.

todd,

BevMo sells 30-packs for $22, so pretty close.

Either you ninja edited or I read it wrong because I swear it originally said 5 30 packs, not 3.

For the liquor and liqueurs, that's a very good combo. Take what you will for the mixers and garnishes.

that's approx. 35 bottles, then beer and mixers/garnishes. Even at a steep avg of $35/bottle you'll have a few hundred left over for beer, mixers and garnishes. That's for a well mixed bar where you'll have lots of people.

For myself... pretty much whiskey, rum, vodka, a few liqueurs and beer. Maybe one-two mixers.

List stuff you like to drink.

Buy $1500 worth of it.

El D,

That's a fine list that'll cover most drinks, but if a serious drinker comes by he'll need some Jack Daniel's too.

I'd probably throw in a couple of boxes of wine too.

Tony: "I'd probably throw in a couple of boxes of wine too." Does anyone really drink wine? If you really think a home bar should have wine, what would you replace from the list?

w: There is already Jack on the list. Would you remove some Jack and replace it w/ Woodford or Makers? Or replace something else w/ those? Why do you think there should be more than one kind of whiskey?

dlks,

30-pack is cans, so no bottle openers needed. I think glasses come from a separate "home" budget, not the "liquor" budget.

Would replace one of the tequilas with a few boxes of wine. Classy ladies like wine.
