Haha, this is exactly my sentiment. I don't judge people who like cream cheese, because taste-wise it's great. But there is something artificial about it. Like it has all the qualities for my taste receptors to like it and none of the qualities for them to dislike it. I guess it lacks depth? It's just immediate pleasure without anything else.

Maybe I take cream cheese too seriously :P.

I don't go to sushi places where the selection is so bad that it matters if cream cheese is in play or not. Tried a Philly Roll the other day. I could take it or leave it. One of the downsides is that the cheese was so filling I couldn't get another Inari...like I usually do. Little bit, I don't know, "Dry" tasting as well. No kick to it. Maybe with some spicy sauce. Definitely not with avocado.
