They used to call it global warming, you might remember this:

Al Gore, qualified bs'er, was behind that farce, since then they have had to change the term to 'climate change' as global warming was factually incorrect wheras climate change is vague enough that it can mean anything.

Of course the climate changes, the earth goes through cycles over long periods of time where it may get 1 or 2 degrees warmer for a couple decades and then it it will drop again over time, so you could call it variance.

The whole 'humans causing co2 emissions' is a load of tosh, just another control mechanism that the elites like to force upon us.

Except the elites don't want to pay for the carbon reduction that the climate scientists are calling for so your probably wrong.

the climate is always changing. this is natural.

man made carbon dioxide is not warming the planet.

pollution is a big problem, but man made carbon dioxide is the least of our worries because other forms of pollution are far more harmful (fukushima, gulf oil spill, depleated uranium, etc.). carbon dioxide is a natural, life giving, gas that plants breath... yet "environmentalists" focus only on carbon dioxide and tend to ignore or downplay other types of pollution. some of the biggest global warming alarmists i know of constantly downplay fukushima because they had been promoting nuclear energy because of its low carbon footprint.

if you think that the sun is the main driver of earth's temperature, why are you considered anti-science? global warming is a cult... and that's what I think is anti-science. most people who believe in global warming are very close minded towards any alternative arguments. to some people, not beliving in global warming is as crazy as being a holocost denier.

why are we currently experiencing record cold temperatures if the earth is supposed to be warming? the global warming people had been saying for decades that the earth is supposed to be getting warmer... and so then when we experience record cold temperatures (something that was not supposed to happen according to their origional claims) they change their theory to just say "climate change" so that they can blame human produced carbon dioxide on any type of exteme weather (even though extreme weather events have always occurred).

Most global warming supporters don't even know basic facts. for example, after world war two, there was a post-war industrial boom where humans produced a lot of carbon dioxide. however, global temperatures fell for about 30 years... and that's when all the scientists were telling us about "global cooling". if you ask most global warming supporters what earth's temperature did over the last 100 years, they wouldn't know...they would most likely guess that earth's temperature basically just went up. they don't even know about the falling temperatures that occurred for about 30 years even when we were producing lots of C02.

the ice core data shows that carbon dioxide levels rise only after temperature has risen. basically, the sun gives off more heat, the earth warms, the oceans get hotter, and the warmer oceans release more C02.

a lot of global warming supporters have huge carbon footprints. they want to tell other people that they shouldn't be using C02, but they continue to have massive carbon footprints. hypocrites IMO.

some of the leading "global warming experts" have been caught manipulating data to support their claims.

all of the doom and gloom predictions are based off computer models that make many false assumptions to produce their doom and gloom scenario.

and for the record, I used to believe in global warming. that's what I was taught in school and I used to think it was 100% proven true. then when i started looking at the other side of the argument, i changed my opinion after looking at both sides with an open mind. also, i'm not a religious person or anything like that. i don't go to chuch, don't read the bible, i don't really belive in any organized religion.

during the medieval warm period, the earth was much warmer than it was today. greenland was actually green. you could live there and farm there. these days, greenland is basically covered in ice. so clearly the warming that occurred durind the medieval warm period was not caused by human produced C02.

also, the warming that has occurred over the past 40 or so years has not been very dramatic. sure, it's a bit warmer, but it's nothing extreme.

anyways... i voted "Liberal conspiracy to seize government control" cause they want to tax carbon (which is basically taxing everything) and keep the 3rd world living in poverty. I think it's immoral to prevent poor nations from using cheap energy while rich nations continue to have big carbon footprints. this is causing the death of many poor people in poor countries.

Out of curiosity, how do climate change deniers deal with the fact that 13 of the 15 hottest years on record occurred in the last fifteen years? Luck?

Yes, yes, let the rustle flow through you. The last few posts are picture perfect examples of how to get this thread on the express train to Unchained.

What were the temps like 150 million yrs ago? Just b/c they're on record doesn't mean anything in the o/a existence of the earth.

I guess man caused all of the ice ages throughout history.

To answer the OP's question.....yes.

It gets cold in the winter and hot in the summer. That's proof of climate change.

so you've been so brainwashed that you actually think that in the billions of years that the earth has been around, that it's never been hotter than it is today? lol.

so what do you mean by "on record" ???

we know that the earth was hotter in the past... that's not even really debatable.

You could have phrased the question "do you believe in 9/11 conspiracies" and probably had the same split in the poll.

The 9/11 conspiritards look like they've come out in force, and there's a strong correlation between being a denialists and being a conspiritard. Perhaps both arise from a strong desire to somehow be smarter than others, including experts in the field. That desire leads to some awfully bad beliefs.
