Re: The Dark Knight Rises
My prediction - Anne will have about as much impact as Maggie Gyllenhaal did in TDK: Good job that'll look great on her resume, but ultimately nothing spectacular.

Hathaway looks like she belongs on the short bus (in the face). Marion Cotillard would be a perfect Cat Woman (sans the accent obv).
But anyway, I hope Hathaway does well.
I was hoping the female character would be Talia Al Guhl.

From what ive read (forgot the link), Nolan is casting two women with major roles in this movie, with the second one being Talia. Announcement regarding this casting should be in the coming weeks if the rumor is true *cross fingers*

I concur. Nolan not too great with writing meaty female roles.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
I have zero interest in seeing Catwoman in this, but whatever, I trust Nolan. Hathaway is hot anyways.
Hardy as Bane could be good though.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Can't remember where I read or heard this, it was ages ago, but there was a rumour that in a future Batman project, Phillip Seymour-Hoffman would be cast as The Penguin and Eddie Murphy as The Riddler. Anyone heard similar?

Catwoman is slightly boring and stock in her own way- but it strikes me as a lot more interesting at face value.
I'd still like to hear a more detailed objection to Catwoman than what we're getting in this thread. I just don't understand where that's coming from.

Who gives a **** who Bane was in the comics if the character Nolan comes up with is rock solid?
Criticizing any of the characters before Nolan even puts them on film is moronic.

I thought he might do this as well. It could have worked pretty well I think.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
The only true Catwoman is Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether, or Eartha Kitt.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
The problem with Catwoman isnt the actress playing her-- it's the character itself. It's pretty boring and it always ends up the same:
omg batman and catwoman like each other but have to fight each other, but wait, catwoman will help batman! Now they can team up and be in love forever an--
oh wait, she just tricked him to steal X in the end. She was really in it for the money...
... or was she???
