wow, I had no idea there were several locations. I went to one of them and was super disappointed that it was way too far away for me to frequent...

Where can you get bottle service in DC other than a strip bar? Or is that what Karak had in mind? Or am I just really out of touch?

literally read this post, looked up the menu to Filomena, and was there with my GF in an hour. It was fantastic, she was nuts over it, which is big praise because she's one of those actual italians who compares everything to her grandmother's cooking.

whatisriver's list in post #134 is extremely solid, probably the most useful post in this thread. Nicely done.

One bit of advice for anyone going to BlackSalt - they do have a sustainable seafood theme/emphasis (which I am in agreement with), so you might want to check out the menu before heading out, because it may not be exactly what you expect. I recommend the full 7 course tasting menu (wine pairings are optional):

The miniature fish market they have in the front of the restaurant is also very nice if you just want to swing by and pick up some stuff to make at home. Wonderful presentation.

Maybe it's just that I hit Filomena during a Restaurant Week once, but I was a little underwhelmed. Guess I'll have to try it again.

It's a lot of fun around holidays - they go completely over the top with (classy) decorations.

I forget if it's been mentioned, but I ate at recently opened (I think) Fiola a few weeks ago and thought it was the best Italian I'd had in DC outside of Palena/Obelisk.
