In the past they have credited rewards for using any CC as long as you click through their portal.

However, from Miles to Memories:

For example, there are numerous reports of Discover clawing back cashback for people who defy the rules and use the portal without paying with a Discover card. This has been against the rules for a long time, however it has never been enforced. While not the friendliest thing to do, I sort of understand it.
From Discover:

Do I need to pay with my Discover card to earn my rewards?

Yes, you need to use your Discover card associated with the account you're logged in to while shopping to take advantage of the offer and earn rewards.

It's a risk but I haven't had a problem with discover deals.

I did have a problem with chase UR for not using a chase card, even though it wasn't specifically stated as a requirement.

points are good for 18 or 24 months (i forget which) if you have no earning activity on your southwest point account.so if you're gonna cancel and haven't earned points in a while spent a dollar on your card before you do and reset the expiration date.

To be a little more specific than borg:

When you cancel a credit card, you will lose any points provided by that bank, but not airline or hotel points with a partner. For example, if you cancel a Chase Sapphire Preferred, you will lose UR points if you don't transfer them to another card or partner first. For Chase Southwest, Chase deposits/buys points for you with Southwest. Once those points are in your Southwest account, they are out of Chase's hands (for the most part, unless you do something really stupid and Chase wants to pursue legal action).

Southwest points are good for 24 months from the last time you have EARNING activity. Keep in mind that it means using points will not count as activity. You can always go through the Southwest portal and make a small purchase (or free after rebate sometimes!) to keep your points active if you no longer have your Chase Southwest card.

With a chase ink business card will there be issues for paying personal cellphone + tv/internet bills?

Looks like I got a pending on my ink app. Gonna call recon, unlikely it gets through . Time to start with non 5/24 I guess. Spg then Marriott -> flight and hotel deal to get sw companion pass seems like the way to go.

My last ink app went to pending and I didn't call. Was approved after about 7 days by itself. GL

I ended up applying for chase FU in addition to my CSP, CSR, and regular Freedom (plan is to downgrade CSP to a slate - free fico score and no fee). I ended up getting only $500 as a limit. my other cards total like $40k so wtf. Think my chances of getting that upped to more like $8-10k are good, or is it gonna be stuck low?

just secure message and ask to transfer 5k from your CSR to your FU.

Also, you can get your free credit score at: https://www.creditscorecard.com/registration

You've hit your max credit limit with Chase for now. You're lucky to get a limit of $500 versus getting a denial. As JL said, you can transfer credit from one Chase CC to another pretty easily. Just keep in mind that if you apply for a Chase CC in the near, or medium-term future, that your app will go to pending or get denied unless you get rid of some of that credit or gain income.

He can move credit lines. He can also ask to have a credit line on a different code lowered before applying for another one.

why does it matter if you're paying it off every month?

he didn't say he's paying it off every month. He said he makes prompt payments. EEK

FWIW I asked for an increase, planning to fall back on a credit transfer if needed, and got the exact increase I asked for. Kinda surprised me but I'll take it

Very nice! It makes sense, as you are showing that you are responsible with the credit that you have, so most banks are going to be very willing to let you have more credit.

Just curious, but will you see if a hard pull was performed by Chase for this? Basically just look at your creditkarma or creditsesame in the future to see. Chase is one of the few banks that has a grey area where they will increase credit limits with or without doing a hard pull when it seem you have hit their max credit limit.

The way their messages were worded made it sound like a hard pull. I'll check in a month or so

If you're carrying balances that you're trying to pay off, apply for a new card with a low/0% balance transfer offer.

In general getting a "lower interest rate" should not be a concern unless you're carrying balances from when you used to run up debts but are no longer doing so. And in that case, a BT is probably going to be better.
