Yes, but I am strangely attracted to the actress in that commercial. And she's not quite as annoying as Flo from Progressive. Her musical pets are very annoying however.

What gets me about that commercial is she says that she taught her dog and this cockatoo to sing the hits of the 80s. Why is the dog her dog while the cockatoo is just some random bird, and if it's not hers, where did she get it?

Very perceptive of you, I hadn't noticed that before. I can only assume the cockatoo is a musician on loan. A guest vocalist, if you will. What I don't understand is how she intended to save money by training the animals to play not only that song, but "all the hits of the 80s". Where is the money coming from? Did she send the recording to Geico, hoping they'd pick it up for a commercial? I mean I guess it worked out but at the time she recorded the video it must have seemed like a longshot.

Edit: OH, yet another thing I didn't understand. My listening comprehension re: this commercial was very poor. "Downloading music can be expensive." Weird how I didn't catch that, they're performing for her so she doesn't have to download the songs.

These piss me off too. Especially in the one where they have little faceplate name tags of all the games going on and the dude hits a button to extend a particular game. It always makes me mad, because if you were really going to have that set-up you would make it where you could switch the names around easily. But nope, at BWW, you have to make new little face plates every week.

I think the ones that piss me off the most are local businesses that use their kids in advertisements. Generally, doing something they can't do well, like singing or dancing. And then they think it'll be more cool if they just get all their kids friends to be in it also dancing and singing.

Here we have a secondhand clothing store that did this with like 5 13 year old girls singing, "Downtown" and an orthodontist office that has like 4 17 year old girls singing a song of their own making about going to the orthodontist. The latter one was apparently such a hit they decided to make a remix version and new commercial.

There is also some restaurant here that has a 16 y.o. piggy who is the chef's daughter as the lead person on the commercial. She comes off as very dour and unlikable (probably why she had no friends join her in making the commercial) and the food looks terrible. Lived 1 block away for a year and never went there. I won't either, until Gordon Ramsay comes in and does a makeover.

Good point diddy. I don't trust anyone who parades their family/kids during a damn business commercial. The Brown Hand Center commercials might be the most heavy-handed egregious example of this that I can think of.

I mean look at this ****ing *******. His trophy wife looks like a zombie who obviously only likes him for his $$$$$$$$$$$ and willingness to give her a bunch of toy kids. Then his kids look at the guy like they barely recognize him. Probably b/c he works 80 hour weeks and is out chasing tail or God knows what. And he taught/forced his "little girrrrrrl" to say that on cue? DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE

They used to play these a lot in my market and the good news is they have subsided a bit over the years.

EDIT: Holy **** I just read the youtube comments and apparently the guy beat his wife and stuff. LOL. No wonder why I haven't seen these things much lately. So basically my impression of him was 100% spot on. If the youtube comments are to be believed.

SGT RJ's post is so full of epic fail. The King, the taco bell in purse and the new Old Spice campaigns are all brilliant. Creepy King is one of the GOAT campaigns - esp the NFL ones.

This post makes me sad. That anyone could like those commercials is unfathomable to me.
