Close! The War Amps mails every noble Canadian a key tag for their address with a serial number on it. The serial number is tied to their mailing database. If you lose your keys, other kind Canooks can return them by dropping them off in any mailbox. The War Amps hires amputees to manufacture and process these lost tags. To date, they've safely returned over a MILLION sets of keys to their rightful owner, at no cost.

This is in addition to the myriad services they provide amputees and their families. They do tremendous work with children. If any of this sounds particularly awesome to you, consider giving to the War Amps. They could really use a hand. Or a leg up.

I have a hard time thinking this sort of program in America wouldn't be an enormous boon to the thriving fields of burglary and fencing.

I think my kid brother did get his license back once after he lost it and someone dropped it in the mailbox. Of course this was weeks later and he'd already gotten a new one. Still, they could have come harvested his kidneys so win win all around.
