2 plaques or whatever you get now days for 11-n-a-row in one set, not bad (I'm sure they only give 1 a year)

Yea, I have like 68.13% strike equity & 96.12% 10-pin conversion equity. I actually really try to think of it like this, I've noticed it helps when I use a bowling app/machine statistics to figure such things out. It's incredible how much variance I experience depending on how focused I am, the lane condition, whichever particular alley I'm at, or even from pair-to-pair. At least my ROR is only like .000000001%.

Re: bowling
Daughter is having her birthday party at the new local alley. I went to my storage and kind find my bowling equipment! Guess this means I have to buy a new ball this week. Any recommendations?
I haven't bowled regularly (i.e. in a league) for about 16 years. Haven't bowled at all in probably about 4 years. But since the new lanes are close to my house and features all-you-can bowl Wednesday nights, I might as well pick it back up.
When I was bowling regularly, I was about a 170-175 average bowler. Pretty much a tweener. Not much side rotation on my normal delivery. Used to bowl with 15 lb equipment and threw at around 17-18 mph or so. My old ball was a Storm, though I forget which model.

Re: bowling
607 tonight, probably shouldn't have pitched a nine inning softball game before league
still hovering around 220 for summer league though so that's not too bad. and we took two of three games (by 9 and 11 pins, respectively) plus the wood (by 2 pins) from these very angry rednecks.

Re: bowling
Are bowling leagues the same as they used to be? I haven't bowled league in like 15 years. Back then, leagues were 30+ weeks long in a smoke filled alley, which is just way too long for me, which is one of the reasons I stopped doing that. Now that the alleys are much cleaner, I'm thinking of joining again. But I really don't like that time commitment.

Re: bowling
gus, there are so many to chose from its hard to say. my next ball is going to be the roto grip defiant pearl. i have 2 regular defiants and love them. you cant go wrong with a storm nano. otherwise id find a old red mission but they dont make them anymore. but thats just me, im sure there are some new great balls out there.

Re: bowling
I went to the Storm website and they have a ball finder guide. It recommended the Frantic. Most of the other manufacturers don't have one of those ball finders. Rotogrip does and it says Bandit.

Re: bowling
If you want to hold out a little bit longer, all the manufacturers release a bunch of their new lines of balls around October iirc.

Re: bowling
179 210 198 tonight. I don't know if my standards are getting too high or what, but I felt like I bowled absolutely awful tonight, when it really wasn't TOO bad, considering I was only about 40 pins under my average for the night, and that's just how it works--under some days, over others. Not to mention I feel like my average is still a bit inflated because of that 790, so in a sense it's even less bad than I'm thinking.

Re: bowling
ugh 584 tonight. Working on having a smoother swing and getting out of the ball cleaner. Worked, except for a few errant shots that ended up in splits.
Ended the summer season with a 216.5 avg. Goal for next season: 220.

In general, winter leagues are 32 weeks and run from Labor Day until early May. Summer leagues are 16 or 17 weeks and run from May to end of August. So, you're probably stuck with a big time commitment if you start now.
Many more places are smoke free now, depending on what state you're in. I love not smelling like smoke every time I bowl these days.

Re: bowling
Don't get the appeal of the times when the bowling alley turns out the lights, turns on black lights, and starts playing the music loud. You can't even see the arrows, so you can't really aim. What's the point of it?
