Funny you should mention this. Twice this year my buddy and I have been drunk at a place you and I both frequent and almost claimed horses. Both won their races and would have been great purchases imo. We were only stopped by knowing nothing about horses and not knowing how to claim one. Now that I'll have a 3-car garage...

http://www.skymall.com/shopping/homepage.htm?pnr=ING imo.
Also, where exactly did you pick up the tastes of a 12 year old? Do you really expect to get laid decorating your home in this fashion?
Serious advice: depending on where you are, goodwill can be spectacular for books and basic furnishings. But you should already have a wall full of books leftover from college right?

12 year old's probably don't know what the Legend of Zelda is unless they are really cool.

You've never seen a games room with stuff like this in it? It doesn't need to go by the front door, but you also wouldn't put an air hockey table in a kitchen.

I'm not sure there's anyplace good to put it in a grown-up's house. But it was so amazing that I had to ship the guy who made it $15.
The fingerprint door lock is cool no matter what you say.
I wasn't planning on displaying boring medical/pharmacy books or poker/chess books. Seems declasse. I'd rather have fake books pretending to be about classical literature or something. This area will also include a nice classic card table and possibly a humidor.

DNA art, they take your dna and turn it into wall art, it looks modern and pretty damn nice; I think 1 normal size print is like $500 I don't remember anymore though.
