It's very obvious hewants to buy time until he replaces you , otherwise he would have at least tried to come closer to the offer they made you at the new job, get the new job as now that it has unfolded, he will own you/ make life worse once you turn the other job down and may fire you out of nowhere.

Just be cordial. Even if he says all of that, I doubt he controls all the hiring and firing decisions long term. I'm assuming there are other opportunities than the current firm you work for and your future firm? While it might seem cool to be hostile, I see no reason to be. Tell them you are parting for better pay and a less hostile work environment. If you have a 1on1 with HR as an exit interview, be honest in how poor a manager you had but I wouldn't be up front with the manager.

I'm a firm believer in moving on when in a situation like yours, but there's nothing to gain by going negative on your way out. If there's an exit interview you could show up with some specific examples of where you thought you were treated unfairly but give your notice and put in your best effort for the two weeks. Despite what he says, maybe your boss ends up leaving that company and the maybe you could come back, but there's probably no chance if you don't give notice. Plus you just don't know who from the old company will find out and go somewhere else. You're better off taking the high ground and having a reputation as someone who left on professional terms. And even if they tell you to just not show up, there's a possibility you get paid for 2 weeks anyway.

If you're counter offered, be honest, tell them you've already made your decision and accepted the other position and it would be unprofessional to back out at this point.

Companies are scared of hiring women; they see them as a risk because of potential law suites.

The recruiter that introduced me to the new company literally ask them if they would be okay with working with a woman engineer. In our initial conversation he said, "I already ask them if they would be okay with working with a woman" as if this was standard protocol when presenting a female for a job.

Don't burn bridges or cause a scene. You never know what third party onlooker you might have to work with or for at a later date. If he wants to make a fool out of himself, there's nothing you can do but do not stoop.

Write a formal letter or email stating you intention and hand it to him. Explain what a pleasure it's been to work there etc etc.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you will have similar issues in your new job. Something doesn't add up and my hunch is that you have poor communication skills.

Stop making mistakes. And when you do make them and your boss points them out, don't respond by pointing out all your co-workers mistakes and how much bigger theirs are instead of taking responsibility for them and trying to improve. I'd give you poor reviews too if you did this.

I suspect you will continue to have problems with your boss no matter where you work if this is typical of your behavior.

Obviously, take the new job and strive to do better.
