Speaking from experience, it will be a better deal to buy a non-smart TV and get either Chromecast or Roku instead of finding a smart TV. I have an LG and really don't like the interface with Netflix. Hulu is okay. But in the end, I paid about $300 more for an inferior product.
If you are set on a smart TV, then Samsung will be your best option. Doubt you can get one that large for under $1000 though.
