I remember hearing about it years ago and everyone kind of shrugged it off. I guess because they were talking about only 1 or 2 women it was nbd, but now that it is 12 women people are outraged.

One woman sued him and a dozen other women showed up to testify. Coz quickly settled and the world shrugged it off. Good going world.

the world was diff even just 10 years ago. Competing interests could keep **** at bay. Maybe it doesnt get the press it should have cuz NBC wants to do some dumb show with cosby, so the news doesnt hammer on it, or cosby's agent also handles so and so who has some deal with such and such who no one wants to piss off. Maybe no one had the balls to really take Cosby on. Maybe no one believed it or wanted to believe it. Back then the public conscience was pretty much at the mercy of the media, they controlled what we talked about. There wasnt twitter and trending on facebook and all that stuff.

Yeah, if you tried to convince people in the mid 80s that Cosby was a rapist, you just would not have been believed.

His show was considered the prime example of wholesome family entertainment.

I'm not sure there's an entertainer around now who combines being so beloved with such a wholesome image.
