5 over = going the legal speed more or less. Unless you use your GPS to measure speed or whatever.

Wouldn't the safest speed be somewhere around 1 mph?

Young Me: I'm late again; everyone else is a slow idiot.

Old Me: I'm in no rush; barely notice behavior of others.

(It helps that Old Me lives in the Midwest, where people are polite and thoughtful.)

Not pulling up to the line in a left turn signal lane. My road to work has a light with a left turn signal (which I have to turn at every day). There is a sensor in the road that triggers the light to turn, and if the lead car does not pull all the way up it never triggers the signal. It is astonishing to me the amount of people who will sit there forever, perplexed as to why the light never turns. Probably averages 3x/week for me.

I bought a mega-phone so that I can yell at these idiots to pull up to the sensor. I do it in a nice way, starting with a little honk to get their attention. Sometimes I am too far back in the line of cars that builds up, so then I pull around to the front of the line and right in front of the offending car, so that I am on the sensor. Most of the time the person I pull in front of just seems to think I'm a dick, and has no idea that I am doing them a favor. I've gotten a lot of colorful hand gestures doing this.

Is there any real good solution to this? There is a sign that says "pull up to line on red," but people still love to stop short and derp on their phones.

Also, having no clue how a flashing yellow left turn signal works. This also happens on my road. Yesterday the left turn signal was flashing yellow as I approached, and a car was just sitting there. The intersection was completely clear, so I just went around this oblivious turd without slowing down. I watched in the rear view mirror, and the car never moved. WTF? This happens less frequently than my above post, but I still see it about once every 2 weeks.

Being bad at parking is ok and taking your time and not letting yourself rushed is very good of you. Just realize that at some point its probably best to put the car half way in the spot so that the 20 drivers behind you can pass and you can try it all again until theres another 20!

Ill never forget when I was in a massive inner city traffic jam because a car was relentlessly trying to fit in a spot. It took a few full minutes until a young girl stepped out the driver side and a guy shaking his head came out of the passenger side to take over the wheel, first thing he did was jam the car in the spot to let us pass. Very thoughtful.

My nephew had to try to back a boat trailer into a drive way on a very busy road in a beach town one summer weekend day. If you've ever tried this, you know it's impossible until you get the hang of it. Hot day, tempers flaring, and once he got perpendicular to traffic, there was nowhere to hide until he got it in that damn driveway.

Finally, after several minutes, he was able to get out of everyone's way. The first driver past shouted to him, "You should've bought a ****ing canoe!"

<CSB>I was driving through a college town: you know, they always have two lanes per direction, with terribly timed lights. I was in the right lane going 7 miles over the speed limit. The light was green. The genius in the left lane decided he did not want to wait behind the Q-Tip who wouldn't make a left fast enough.

He changed lanes without even considering the possibility I might be barreling down upon him, about to put him out of his misery forever.

Thank God it snowed. I barreled my car as far right as it would go into the snowbank.

Of course, the [CENSORED] that [CENSORED] his own [CENSORED] bolted like a bastards that would steal your button.

I bought a megaphone hahaha outstanding.

You should have bought a canoe also A++ haha.

Ran across two tonight and thought of this thread:
-feeble-ass mofos that hit their brakes every time a car approaches from the opposite direction.
-people that slow down/ride their brake approaching a green light, only to have it turn yellow and then gas it through the light leaving me to sit at the red light plotting their demise.

Na F both of you, why are you in the left lane going slower than the guy in the right lane?

I saw the sign that says right lane ends 1 mile ahead. So I, you know, got over.

Idiot in a pickup truck ahead of me shot a few big clumps of snow off his roof onto my windshield this afternoon. Luckily I had my megaphone with me so I got to tell him what an ******* he was.

(Bring on the haters!)

- In my state they had all the best scientific minds put their heads together and come up with the safest speed for the road you are on. Then they put that exact number on big white signs to let people know how fast to drive. I've found this to be really awesome, it's like having a driving rule book right there in front of your face as you drive by. You should request this for your state or country!
It's almost as if speed limits are set by population density without regards to the actual road usage and that local governments artificially lower speed limits to generate revenue in the traffic ticket business.

Nothing more hilarious than driving on a road whose speed limit goes up or down 5 MPH just because I crossed town limits. But yeah, I'm sure the road really changed. I'm sure all those "scientific" minds at the local government office really scientifically set speed limits. Hence why you see you see limits arbitrarily change when changing towns or speed limits randomly changing one day on roadways that had absolutely no roadwork done to them. Geniuses at work.

LOL I've always thought how fabulous it would be to mount a megaphone on the roof of my car and yell at bad drivers about how bad they are.

And clearly misjudged the timing because someone caught you on the right. Had you stayed on the right there would not have been any issue based on your description.

I posted as much a few posts later and the post you quoted was somewhat tongue in cheek. In spite of that, what would your method be? That every idiot decided for themselves what speed they wanted to drive at?

We have defined rules, because it is required. I don't like them either, I would prefer to smash everybody in my way with my crash bars, but people tend to complain. I've advised our lawmakers to give me a time when only I can be out on the road driving, but young people are so selfish they can't even extend me that small courtesy.

I tell you, I just can't get any respect...

Been driving probably 15+ years, never had this one happen til this summer.

Bottleneck because of an accident, traffic cuts from four to one lane. Idiot in front of me in a piece of **** rape van, clears the bottleneck and continues going 15mph to gawk at the car. I tap on the horn and try to go around and the dickhead is swerving in front of me, blocking me. I pull a mighty ducks triple deke and floor it while giving him the finger Thurman murman style. Went 90 the rest of the way home on a wide open highway

Not sure if you're an idiot or just trolling....probably both. If I would've stayed in the right lane I wouldn't have had a lane much longer. There was no timing for me to misjudge. Sign says "right lane ends 1 mile ahead, merge left". I merged left. He didn't. He chose to ignore the signs and hang out in the lane that was ending. Also, there was still a far left lane(often referred to as the passing lane) he could've chosen to use to pass me instead of the lane that was ending. That's on him bro.

people who wait until the very end of a lane to merge out of it are among the woat.

often when driving i dream of inventing a gun that when i shoot someone they drop dead 5 hours later. that way these idiots wont further **** up traffic when they get what they deserve.
