to be fair, I don't have anything against the cheesecake factory itself

in fact, I will usually eat there when I visit my in-laws in Dallas

but it's a strange choice for a big celebratory meal in a place with so many interesting (and cheap if you want) options

Cheesecake factory is the type of place you take new hires at the end of the first week.

Large menu with more items than anyone could reasonably expect to all be great, but everyone will find something to enjoy.

At least grand lux you can pretend it's a decent restaurant since it's not always sandwiched between a maggianos and pf changs

One of my main objectives when traveling is to never eat at a place that I can eat while I'm at home. I love trying regional food/restaurants.

If you travel across the country and eat at a national chain restaurant then you're an idiot.

The marginal added pleasure I get when I find a really great local restaurant is very small when compared to the disappointment I have when the meal at a local restaurant is well below my expectations for a reasonable meal. I would need to find 20 great places to make up for one awful place. 90% of places are awful. At a national chain at least you know what to expect.

I like going to Grand Lux and getting a grand slam breakfast for ~triple what the "real" one costs.

As far as local places, Yelp is kind of scummy as a company IMO but once you get past more than a handful of reviews, the info is pretty accurate IME

That sounds like something a guy who rocks white socks and sandals would say.

I'm wearing white socks right now!

Why are 11 million people googling David Bowie?

I can't believe "porn" wasn't a winner.

This is incorrect as I've tried a little bit of a sturgeon cheesecake at the bellagio buffet

I like having what I consider to be a legitimately tough choice, making an intuitive guess and being correct by an order of magnitude (or was it two? I honestly don't remember)

ETA: Sitting on 19 and "cello" vs "oscar wilde"

ETA: 20. "oscar wilde" > "liposuction"? I find that hard to believe
