What are you going to do if she gets pregnant? I mean, with the religious background there really is only 1 option.

Her being pregnant is going to trigger some huge emotions and you won't ever be able to leave her alone with a small child, or so I would assume.

If so, does it bother you that you're not able to have children or was it never something you wanted for yourself in your life anyway?

Do you get any meaningful support from her parents, or do they still believe that she'll be cured by exorcisms? Have you ever confronted them about the uncle thing?

There is so much material here for snarkiness, it's like shooting fish in a barrel. So I will opt for the other side of the coin.

Over the years, I have dated several legitimately mentally ill girls and women. I still bear some of the scars, literally.

While I cared about them (even convincing myself I was "in love" with them), ultimately the wheels would always come flying off.

In retrospect, that was the best possible thing that could have happened. I was very young and idealistic, and had this idea that I was her one lifeline, etc., and I would always try my best to make it work, but in the end, there was always something so over the top, so absolutely "insane," that I would have to walk away.

There's no other way to say this: You're 25. Even if she weren't bonkers, you shouldn't be marrying her. The fact that she is nuttier than Chinese chicken salad makes it a no-brainer. At 25, you simply do not have the capacity to understand what FIFTY OR SIXTY years will be like, much less that same amount of time spent rushing your wife, yourself, and your kids to the hospital over and over.

Think of the stigma your kids will have to endure. Think of spending time with your in-laws. Your in-laws will become a HUGE part of your life. Normally, they would be vitally important to this entire equation, helping you cope with her episodes in any number of ways. You will likely end up doing the exact opposite--avoiding them at all costs. They sound like imbeciles, so it's not like you'll be reaching out to them at all.

I understand wanting to be loyal to your relationship. It's admirable, especially for someone like her who really needs someone they can trust. But you don't need to make that your life's work.

There is nothing that says you have to marry anyone, much less her, when you are 25 years old and she is 22.

What should be happening instead is you should be getting her treatment and medication and standing by her while you see if modern science can restore her to sanity.
