Your post reminds me a lot of myself and a lot about some friends I've had over the years. It's really easy to jump into a relationship and move too fast and get to the point you are at. I personally am too much of a jealous type to get into open relationships, but I asked a friend about it and he said open relationships are very doable if both parties are cool with it. But if either side isn't completely 100% with the idea, it's not going to end well. I mean you can maybe talk him into it, but you can never be sure he's really ok with it and not just pretending to go along with it. There can't be even a shadow of a doubt in your mind that he's sincere about it in order to pull the trigger on it.

IMO, a three way would be a good test and one that, if it fails, might not destroy relationship like going straight to an open relationship would. That way you both participate and both can see what everyone is doing. You run the same risks as mentioned above, but for someone who can be a little jealous it's not as traumatic as him thinking, "omg my bf is out with another guy and I'm not there, they might be having sex right now, omg omg". He's there and can stop it at anytime.

Whatever you decide to do, if your appetite to explore still isn't quenched, then you really need to take a step back and decide what's more important: being able to explore your sexuality or committing to being with someone for the rest of your life. That's not a decision anyone can make except yourself.

Do you have some issues with the gay community you'd like to share with us?

Dude who posted about rushing into the relationship with his bf, I too am interested in why ya'll can agree on a 3-way with a straight guy. Is is simply because doing it in this manner reinforces that it is a one-time deal, or that if side emotions were to develop they really wouldn't pan out or something like that? Or did the bf just agree to it just because it is a less likely scenario then having a gay male join in a 3-way?

I think you're unclear on the concept of "straight". Or at least purely straight.

But there are certainly straight identified men who have some same sex attraction, so I guess that's your potential target pool. You'd probably have a lot more luck if you targeted bi-identified guys, though.

This, there are plenty of bi men who have zero interested in being in a relationship with a guy.

Finding them is another thing, unless you want to venture on Craigslist. Of the couple "straight" guys I've been with, it was pretty random and nothing that was really planned in advance, it just sort of happened. Unless you have evidence someone is willing, there's really no other route than online, and that's a pretty unpredictable and risky proposition.
