Re: Ask me anything about jumping off a bridge
Saying suicide is selfish is really tilting (but true). Its unimaginable how horrible it can be, and with the ignorance of youth can seem like its permanent, something intrinsic within you. The idea of living the rest of you're life like that is literally unbearable. Can you imagine what its like going through that moment before you try to kill yourself? Soon there will be nothing, absolutely nothing, just a few moments of horrendous pain, and then silence.

Re: Ask me anything about jumping off a bridge
Thanks for bump to avoid archives etc.
Life has been good lately, won a national pair game as brrr said and also will start with a new partner/team this summer. My new partner is the guy who was #1 for 18 years in a row and is the most successful player ever. He is in his 70s, but still damn good and has very high finishes in major events recently. Really pumped for that opportunity.
Been travelling a ton and haven't been able to play much poker, bridge schedule really busy and have a few more international tourneys scheduled this year. Some girl drama, trying not to repeat the same mistakes I made last time which I documented in this thread.
I think I'm gonna be ok, things are looking up.

Congratulations to Justin Lall and Bob Hamman, winners of the 2012 Platinum Pairs. They edged out Ishmael Del'Monte and Thomas Bessis, and John Diamond and Brian Platnick took 3rd.

Re: Ask me anything about jumping off a bridge
Yeah that was a good start to our partnership lol. We officially start in the summer, but played the first pair game in the spring nationals which is also the most prestigious pair game on the calendar every year and managed to take it down.
To put into perspective, it was my 3rd national win and his 50th. Yeah, five zero.... too sick for words what a legend he is.
That win also made me the youngest grand life master of bridge which is pretty cool. Excited to start playing the big team games with him in the summer.

Re: Ask me anything about jumping off a bridge
Great thread OP. Took a couple of hours but well worth the time.
Congrats on your recent bridge success (the card game) and your ongoing success with beating your past bridge action (referring to the jump obv. – just wanted to make that clear for the few 'tards that have been posting in the thread).

where did you want to land if not on your feet?
i've done a fair amount of cliff jumping myself, maybe 30m highest, but pointing ties and landing on feet is always the tactic i use.
did you wear shoes?

On my stomach or on my back. I have/had no clue about technique lol. I believe I wore sandals (berks), I usually do, and I believe I took them off pre jump because they made me feel less balanced...but tbh I am not sure anymore lol.
