Once you have made your goal, you leave. If the "more hands is more money" theory were correct then all pro players would never leave the table. Clearly they do not play blackjack 120 hours a week. Several reasons why this is not feasible.

Once you are ahead say 10 units, you are not only giving them a chance to get their money back but after that you would be risking your own money. Minimize the risk of your roll as much as possible. Like I stated in an above post, the casino is not going anywhere. If you must, return later or go hit another table, but sitting at a table for too long is not a good idea if it can be avoided.
Ah, you suck at leveling. This was really, really poor.

Obviously I never said anything of the kind. Knowing the count of the deck is the key to beating the game.

I beg your pardon? You're going to have to excuse me, I am not familiar with the term "leveling"?

What did I say that is so "poor"?

you like, don't understand variance and isolated probability incidents. the EV of a single hand in blackjack is not affected by the past. so even if you've "run hot" for a while, the ev of the next hand will remain the same (assuming you're keeping all control variables the same).

but please keep posting. i like seeing the comparison of an obvious expert in blackjack and an amateur.

You are saying that I don't understand that they are independent events, one having no bearing on the other? Of course I fully understand that.

Anyone with years of blackjack experience however will utilize a little more than simple math and probability into their approach, if you know what I mean.

I can't tell if you guys are joking are trolling?

If you have any serious questions about this I am happy to answer. I will fully stand by everything I have said.

There is more to the game than just EV, probability and numbers. If you don't understand this then you don't stand a chance.

Besides staying under the radar, what other skills are necessary?

I assumed op's goal setting method was a way to keep discipline, and draw less attention.

You must be confident. Think positive. It is absolute bizarre and inexplicable but it is amazing how if you go to the table thinking you are going to lose it will happen. Wish I could explain it scientifically but I have seen it a million times.

You must be disciplined. Taking the approach of "Oh wow look at me this is easy Im going to stay all day and win a million dollars" is LOL. You hit, and run. Hit again later. Don't try to sit there and beat them all day. It is a game where you can use variance to your advantage in the short run. Once you are ahead 10 units, for the love of God, just walk away. The dealer would be thrilled to make that in their 8 hour shift.

"Staying under the radar" is actually very very overrated. I can tell you right now even if most places know you are counting they will still welcome your business with open arms. It is when you start really hammering them for ridiculous amounts of money that they will start to consider showing you the door. Don't listen to these stories about "I doubled my 8 against a 6 and was shown the door". Please. Theres almost always far bigger fish to fry.

Good people skills. Be friendly. Talk to the pit boss, talk to the dealer, tip the dealer. Don't sit there like a serious robot. Be loose. Projecting this kind of image works wonders, and is more fun anyway. Who knows, you might be able to get a date out of it with some hot dealer too.

It takes a certain kind of person. You need to be almost completely emotionless.

He's trolling or a severe idiot. Your only session goal (aside from the obvious ones) is time. Play for 45 minutes and hit the door and make your rounds, then rotate day, swing and grave shifts. You can literally go weeks (well, back then anyway) before running into the same faces.

Please respond honestly with how much you are down in your life playing blackjack. Then please tell me what is it that you think makes you an expert in this.

Nope, it's to avoid variance. When you're a pro you only experience the negative kind.
