This is supposed to be happening here in a few minutes. Apparently this type of lunar eclipse is only visible to the human eye every 300 years or so. Not sure how accurate what I read about it is, but whatever. THE MOON IS GOING TO ****ING BLOOD RED. It's cloudy where I live so I'm sure if I'll be able to see it. Anyone awake and going to see this thing?

It's just starting!!! In Southern California the sky is clear, the Moon is full and Mars is hanging right next to it.

There's a thin layer of clouds here so the view isn't great. Hopefully they break in the next couple hours.

It was clear here around midnight, but then it rained and now it's cloudy. Guess I'll have to wait another 300 years.

Every total lunar eclipse produces a "blood moon" and this was the first of an extremely rare tetrad every 6 months.

Great viewing here, been watching eclipses for 35 years now and it never gets old. Although I do. And am.
